Domo Sushi Bar & Grill

The last three times we have been here the service has been absolutely awful. Our appetizers were forgotten and came out last. The meals came out at different times that one person was done before the sushi came out. The chairs are warn to the padding.
Makes me sad the sushi used to be amazing.
Last night the sushi chef was talking more than making sushi. We cancelled my roll because my husband was finished with his meal and they hadn’t even started my roll.

Super disappointed with Domo over the past few months. We used to go there every week. Now, we have problems every time we go.

Today was the worst service yet. When we got there, we were told to pick up our own menus and sit anywhere.

We ordered four rolls (uncooked) and 2 hand rolls. It took over 40 minutes to get two rolls and two hand rolls. At 40 minutes, we were told they were out of spicy tuna and needed to pick two other rolls. The super frustrating part is that I saw the sushi chef tell the servers 15 minutes before that they were out of spicy tuna. The servers stood at the front doing nothing instead of notifying us immediately so we could still get our food for the adults at our table.

After waiting 40 minutes, we decided to cancel the rolls instead of waiting another 40 minutes.

The crazy part is that it was not busy. There are only half full. No one was moving fast and zero signs of them feeling busy. We got to the restaurant about 25 minutes after they opened. So, there’s really zero excuse for any of it.

They were also out of sprite and lemonade, and have no other caffeine-free drinks for kids (except water). And they still tried to charge us for sprite when we all got waters!

They also didn’t bring the side sauces we asked for.

So now, we are still hungry and have to find a second option for lunch since we were only able to feed our kids.

Tonight, we found our sushi home in East County, Santee, at Domo Sushi. Our server Malia was amazing. Loved the quality of the sashimi and the rolls were delicious. Great atmosphere with fun servers. We will see you again soon.

I used to come here , & at that time it was fairly good.
But now, I would say. It has gone down.Yhe sushi is still good but bento or other food is disappointing .& low quality considering
the price.
It used to be our favorite spot but aft
er today. No more going back.

Great spot. Didn’t get 5 stars cause there ain’t nothing in Santee that’s 5 star. But damn that was a good meal!! Himachi melted in my mouth. Hot lips roll was perfect. Surf clam nigiri delicious. Sushi chef was awesome…and good service!🤙🏽

Just had sushi here since the old staff jumped ship.. Our server Nea was excellent and well as our meal. Met the new manger who stopped by to introduce him self and ask how everything was. We will continue to come here and support a local business.

This is a new review.
Update Domo is still top notch with the prices and service. I was here today at 4 pm. We were the first ones to be seated. Service was great food tasted the same as it always has. The manager Dan told us the story of what is really going on. He's been with Domo from day one and he is passionate about future success. Unfortunately the staff we've grown to love had retired and moved on to do new things. Yea it's a bummer from the staff we've known for years. The quality of the food remains the same. And it's in a rebuild so to say. Please don't let the new hire deter you from coming . I heard they are going to try to do something new and want to do a event with submissions of rolls from the customers. Please give this new staff a chance and let them re-grow with you and your family.

Best sushi, great prices staff is awesome. We visit often. Love this place for a quick snack or a long dinner date with my wife! 5 stars keep up the good work!

Sushi was good. Service was horrible. Seemed like they didn't even want us to be there. Messed up the order. Gave multiple reminders about things we had ordered as part of a meal that were missing. Will not be back.
