This place is a hidden gem. I usually drive down to south to Logan or Chula Vista for this type of food. This was my first time going last week. Met Esmeralda and her niece. Mom and Pops place to eat, very authentic, made me feel like my father-in-laws cooking. We had the Cubana, Torta and the Birria Empanada for my family of 7. At the old Grilled Cheese & Shakes location. Seats about 14 people inside but meant for takeout from the size. Excellent and friendly service and tasty treats from lunch items, to crepes, to fruit smoothies. Try it!
I enjoyed a nice bowl of albondiga soup from this place in Santee, east county San Diego. The bowl of soup came to $10 and some change. The soup came with piping hot corn tortillas, some chopped white onions, and Mexican rice.
