First time going there after reading such great reviews for years now. Breakfast, only customers, sat outside. Waitress doesn't need to be friendly at all but in a hurry? Also the food was so lacking. Biscuits and gravy, cold hard and lumpy gravy. Friend's omelette looked great but was very dry I ordered a English muffin to replace the biscuits and gravy and it was $3.95 for a tiny over toasted dried up low quality muffin. I'll try lunch. Hoping for better then I'll be done. P. S. Funny, Omelette Factory has the same old tasting dried out biscuits. But at least the gravy is kinda okay.

Took my family here for breakfast and it was fantastic, so much so that the wife and I decided to come back for dinner and it was just as good. Polite attentive wait staff, fast service, reasonable prices. Absolutely wonderful experience all around ?

I absolutely love this place, right in the heart of Santee, next to the Library. Food is amazingly good and don't forget to check out the desser!

Had my "norm" chicken fried steak and eggs...both came out perfect and exactly as ordered! Excellent gravy. Opted for the TWO pancakes instead of toast and they filled the plate - YUGE!!! Make sure you've got room if you follow suit - or just ask for one!

Not too far from Cowles mountain hike. First time here and enjoyed the generous portions and tasty meal. Poached eggs seem to be a challenge at most restaurants and usually come out like a soft boiled egg unfortunely. I like to dip my bacon in the yolk and never get to because of this problem. Oh well. Everything still tasty and good price and good atmosphere. I tried the hollandaise and it was very good. Taking half the meal home because it's a lot of food. I'd come back here again.

There's nothing wrong with Janet's Cafe and Deli. Its morning-to-midday menu offers a wide variety of classic breakfasts, sandwiches, pies and cakes. These things are prepared well and quickly, using quality ingredients, and their reasonable pricing offers value for money spent. In fact, I've only ever been disappointed by two dishes at Janet's: a plate of pancakes, which were "eggy", requiring me to cut them with a knife; and a slice of coconut cream pie, whose custard was a bit starchy, and which could have been sweeter. But those were one-off issues, and, now that I think about it, they really weren't problems, so much as they were matters of taste and preference. The wait for a table can be a little disorganized, but it's tolerable, as Janet's customers are genial, and in my experience, few people are unhappy when the air smells of breakfast. Plus, Janet's customers seem mostly to be from the neighborhood, and if you live in Santee, and especially if you're an ardent Christian, you may see someone you know. Finally, the staff at Janet's doesn't seem to mind when I show up toting a cortado or latte from Kaffee Meister Coffeehouse, a couple of doors down. That's a kindness that I appreciate.

Huge proportions fit for all your clone army needs. You’ll never go away hungry here, that’s for sure and the dessert are awesomeness made to sway the influence of the dark side. I even loved the punny sign that said “we don’t have Apple Pay but we do have apple pie”.

Great place for waffles and coffee after hiking Mission Trails or Iron Mtn. Always make a point to stop on my drive back home to treat myself. Lots of options for lunch and pastry case is over abundant
