I celebrated my graduation yesterday in this excellent restaurant. happy to tell that it was a astonishing evening and the venue was certainly the reason for this outstanding celebration. The stuff participated in a pleasant manner, the cuisine was tasty and my buddies were so joyful. We shall surely visit again for more events. Thank you very much.
They have Great food !!!!
First time here and WOW!! Best omelette around. Great coffee. Staff is fun and friendly and the place is beautiful. Would recommend
Unfortunately, Mimi's Cafe is suffering and the quality of their food reflects it. The only thing going for them is the friendly people working there. Talking with the manager I found out they're going through the same cost savings cuts as Marie Calendar did. Adding insult to injury the glasses and flatware were dirty. Kinda disgusting and a super bummer?
I went to this Mimi’s location for a birthday lunch today with my mother and daughter. We had been here before, and previously had a positive experience. Things were 180 degrees different today. We stood at the hostess’ table for at least ten minutes before anyone at all even acknowledged us. We were led to the back of the restaurant to a table that had a broken chair. Once we were seated, it was at least 20 minutes before a waitress appeared to take our drink order. Iced tea drinks shouldn’t be too complicated, but apparently an Arnold Palmer is too difficult to pull off, because the lemonade tasted like water. We ordered the artichoke dip appetizer, which came (nearly half an hour later) with a nearly gelatinous consistency, along with utterly stale crostini slices. The waitress insisted they were fresh, but my daughter could barely break them. Onto the main course. My daughter’s French dip...the meat looked dingy and was nearly flavorless, the bread was stale on top, soggy and falling apart on the bottom, and the au jus was like brown water. How do you ruin a French dip?? My Brie and mushroom burger managed to be both greasy and dry, was cold (as were the fries), and there was less than no visual appeal. The waitress insisted, once again, that the meals, including fries, were all fresh, but they were all cold and gross, and the reportedly “fresh fries”, for which our meals had been delayed by an hour, were less than room temperature, cold and greasy. My mother’s French Quarter burger was “okay”, but was also cold and greasy. A gross showing. Our waitress avoided our table, as she knew we were unhappy. She instead waited on tables of people who were seated after us, brought them their drinks and warm meals, cleared their tables, and took their checks faster than she or the kitchen staff could manage to serve us cold, disgusting food. We were there for nearly two and a half hours for this experience, saw many other tables come and go, and left with very bad tastes in our mouths. And, on top of the horrible service and food, they had drastically increased their prices, so to add insult to injury, my mother had to pay an inflated check for something that was all the time of a fine dining experience with definitely substandard service and food. What a waste! Two and a half hours of our lives that we will never get back. I will absolutely NEVER go to this restaurant again, and I advise anyone considering it to instead turn into the McDonald’s up the street. You’ll be glad you did.
only one cook, poor waitress, she was nice but the food sucked. we went with a group of 7, only 2 liked their food. took 45 min 2 get food.
People seated over 15 minutes after us had their order taken first. Even after our order was taken and we were served drinks we had no silverware. Had to ask 3 times for it. Very loud large party in room made normal conversation impossible. As we were finishing second large party seated and 3 waitresses concentrated on them rather than caring for our table and the other table. Had to ask twice for our check. After sitting there waiting for our change for 15 minutes I left leaving just enough money to pay the tab. So sad. A restaurant that I used to enjoy is now somewhere I no longer want to visit.
great homestyle meals. service was good.
I had the Eggs&Bacon Croissant sandwich with melted cheddar from the all day breakfast menu. It was delicious! And the now in season pumpkin creme brulee. WOW what a great dessert!♡
Service is the worst. There’s no one at the door to get you a table. When they finally seat you in, we waited 20 min to get our drink order taken. The food is good but please do something about the service.I pretty sure I’m not coming to this location again.
Restaurantji Recommends
The service is really great. The food is good. The location is my least favorite thing because it seems like everytime I eat on the patio some parade or protest is taking place. It would make a world of difference I THINK if they were able to put outside seating in the other side of the building it would make a world of difference. But regardless. Good food. Good service. Definitely recommend and will go back again
The service was great, the manager was helping us and she was awesome! I had French onion soup that was so rich and delicious ? So go check out Mimi's in Santee, you won't be disappointed.
My boyfriend and i went in for lunch as it was our anniversarry. We go every year because it was our first date spot. We usually love Mimi's but lately its kinda gone down hill. The menu keeps changing, and not for better, removing many things that made it Mimi's. The atmosphere has also changed. They used to play quiet more french bistro style music now they play annoying pop music. Today it was only i, my bf and one other group but it was super slow service. The servers all seemed to be hidden, we only saw them every 15 minutes or so and even then they felt stand offish. Our server didnt seem to want to be there and also was all stained and covered in what i hope is food. The food wasnt great either. Its also tanked. The french dip i got was flavorless and the meat kinda greyish green. The au jus was basically water with food coloring. My boyfriend got the french quarter and it was all right just super grease soaked, kinda cold and the avocados were turned. The tea he got also tasted like it was off so we shared my drink. I am willing to give Mimi's another go just because i have been going there most my life but i cant deny things have changed. Raised prices, poor food, bad atmosphere, everything is kinda dirty and the staff didnt want to be there. There was a large spider web in our window and a dead fly on the sill. I can give a pass cause of covid but i just hope things get better. Also there qr code menu replacements dont work
It was open. I think they had a busboy, server/manager and a cook as the full staff. They were great. The was good. Took off stars for the outside set up. Umbrellas didn't offer much on the way of shade. We surrounded by dry rotted wood, dead plants and an underlying smell that might have been urine. I would take it home but not eat on-site again.
My family had a great breakfast at Mimi's! The service is excellent and the food is fantastic! I had the egg, spinach and cheese crepes ... absolutely delicious. I'd go back there in a heartbeat!
