This is one of the most interesting Roberto’s I’ve visited as they have a small half bar inside. Cute little tables and chairs give it a homey atmosphere. Unfortunately the guy taking the order didn’t understand my mother and only put in mine and my daughter’s rolled tacos not hers. I was disappointed that the tacos only come with cheese and guacamole not lettuce. They charge you more for lettuce than buying an actual full head of lettuce! Everything was extra extra extra. Might as well go to a sit down restaurant and be served at a table. Food was ok, attitude affected my taste buds though. My mother choose just to eat at home instead of waiting again. Classic case of an older person being ignored.

This is without a doubt the worst taco shop I have been to in San Diego. Both burritos we ordered were gross, the soup was ok, and the carne asada fries were decent. I will never be going back. I would recommend to go to literally any other taco shop.

I have never done a review in my life... went there for the 1.99 fish tacos. Ordered 2 anf a bean & cheese burrito, im thinking 11 dollars. It was almost 20.. fish tacos were about 6 dollars ea. I asked and the young lady said something about the internet price.... nevermind, hope the food is good, maybe i didnt read the fine print but 6 dollars per fish taco is Anthonys or brigantine price... Not going back.

We tried the Burrito, and I had the Fish Soft Taco, which I loved. However, the beef bowl with avocado, beans, rice, peppers, and tomatoes in this shop, it felt like too much going on flavor-wise. On the bright side, we enjoyed the delicious pineapple juice. The server is nice and I asked to get another Juice and he said pay after when we are done, he told me next time. Thank you for the treat! Overall, it was a good experience at Roberto’s Taco Shop in Santee.

I actually genuinely really love this spot. The food has a genuine flavor. We moved to lakeside two years ago from an area in San Diego that has delicious Mexican food at just about every corner, so finding a place that has good service and good flavors over this side of town that was similar to what we were used to was a task, until we found this spot. So why the lower star rate? - the portion to cost ratio doesn't match. I'm specifically referring to the carne asada chips. The first time we ordered them, it was a to-go box FULL of chips and maybe about a handful of carne (literally). I was understanding then, perhaps the cook was new. Ordered them a second time, it was the same. Third time, THE SAME! what the heck, at $15 an order... this can't be real!? I hope this feedback is considered by the owners and begins to offer fuller portions of meat and other ingredients on the chips. Besides that, this place has good flavors. Appreciate you guys :).

Quaint sitting area for a taco shop.
