The owner was interactive which was great and ambience was fine but the fusion indian food was not great. Jerk chicken was too tangy for our liking and veggies on the side were undercooked. We also ordered masala chai which was not good.

A unique experience of fusion Indian cuisine. We had the enchiladas, and ravioli. It was a perfect blend of Indian , Mexican and Italian flavors. It was a great dine-in experience thanks to Ashokji. He guided us through the whole menu and helped select the dishes. A definite to go place for those special occasions. A five star experience.

We loved the food here! We ate the samosas, enchiladas and the dessert and all were outstanding! Best of all was the white glove service. We even took an order to eat at home!
Amazing experience! Ashok was such a gracious host. He made unique dishes for the kids who loved it. For us he made dishes from veggies which we normally wouldn't use (tarot root, goosefoot).
The restaurant is small and cozy, the vibe is positive and Ashok has taken great care to ensure the dishes prepared are healthy. But Avatar's is not advertised as a healthy food place - rather it is known as a fusion place with unique tastes, the healthy ingredients is just ethos rather than branding.
Loved the whole experience and would go again in a heartbeat.
What an inventive cuisine, a radical combination of Mexican constructs with South Asian spices. I was slightly skeptical about the over the top ratings but this place delivered, everything was quite good.
As prompted by the reviews, I had the owner (who was quite friendly) pick my dish. He made a special set of buffalo and pumpkin curry enchiladas; tender ground buffalo meat seasoned with smoky curry spices and mashed pumpkin, and lathered in a dark brown curry enchilada sauce. Soaking up some of the accompanying saffron rice, it was an epic combination.
We will definitely swing by again when in Sausalito.

Such absolutely wonderful food! Flavor combinations I’ve never had before, and the owner takes such deep pride and enthusiasm in the work. One of the best lunches I’ve had. So worth the trip!
