The servers were very rude. We had to wait very long to get a table, then they didn’t serve us for another 15 minutes. It took almost 20 minutes for our two coffes to arrive. The prices aren‘t fair.

Food and drinks were good (not up to par for the price, but not bad), establishment was beautiful, service was bad. I feel like maybe they profile you based on how much money they think you make? I’m an East Bay Native so I don’t come to Sausalito often but I wanted to show my friend someplace nice to celebrate a milestone she accomplished in her educational career. We made a reservation and the host told us our table wasn’t ready which we were totally fine with as we were a tad early. She told us we could order drinks at the bar while we wait. While waiting by the bar, a man in a suite who I assume to be the manager asked us if we were just standing there or waiting for a table and I told him the hostess told us to wait here. He didn’t say anything after, just left, but that made us feel a bit uncomfortable because he gave us no affirmation or direction after being questioned which made us think we were maybe doing something we weren’t supposed to, but there was little room elsewhere to stand while we waited. For the rest of our time there I see him checking on other guests with a smile. We get seated and wait a very long time to be checked on until I had to wave down someone just to order. After getting our food, I asked one of the servers for hot sauce (an older man with blue eyes) and he made a face then shrugged and said they had tapatío but I didn’t want it if it came with that kind of attitude. Thankfully my friend and I know how to protect our light and we had a good time because that’s what we came to do. A much kinder server outside (a woman) took our picture, the views are of course gorgeous, but that’s thanks to the Land.

We were visiting SF and took a lovely drive to Sausalito and stumbled upon Barrel House. What a lovely afternoon and lunch at this place really made a memorable day. Kat was very personable, lovely and accommodating throughout our entire experience.
We got a bottle of wine for 50% off and all got delicious meals. The Shrimp risotto was so delicious, and they allowed me to sub mushrooms out for another veggies. The sandwiches were huge and yummy.
The only feedback was the Rainbow salad was not a good representation of Panzanella salad. It had way too many greens and not enough veggies at all.

We had dinner at Barrel House Tavern and it was one of the highlights of our time near San Francisco. We sat outside on the terrace and the view over the bay, with the San Francisco skyline in the distance, was simply breathtaking.

As the sun started to set, the whole setting became even more magical. The combination of good food, ocean air and that iconic skyline made it a truly memorable evening.

The only small downside was that our starter and main course arrived almost at the same time, which disrupted the flow of the dinner a bit. But given the atmosphere and the view, it was easy to overlook.

An absolute recommendation, especially if you can get a table outside around sunset.

Had a gorgeous view sitting outside overlooking the water. Bench counter table was a bit small to eat at but worth it for the view of the water. Watched sea lions, porpoises, seagulls and ships Had fun fighting off a seagull who wanted my fries! Waiter was fine. I had the Lobster Bisque and felt it was extremely overpriced for the amount received. It was only ok - not the best. VERY tiny amount of bisque that is poured over what appeared to be little fish cakes. Nice prrsentation since they pour it over at your table but too small of a portion for the price. Fries were very good. Beniet donuts were vey good. My Espresso Martini was excellent. My husband had the clam chowder which was tasty and had a generous portion.

Disappointing, such a nice place but they were so overwhelmed and did not handle it well. We were seated front and center but were ultimately ignored. My friends burger bun was crumbling apart and the pattie was bland. My friends risotto was such a small portion. The highlight was the French fries sadly. My old fashioned sat so long it came out watery. When I asked them to take it back they bright it back but just added more alcohol to it so it tasted like a straight shot of alcohol. So pricy for an average meal tbh. Would not return.

Food and drinks were delicious, restaurant is huge could have spaced people out more instead of cramming everyone in one corner.

We had a good experience overall at Barrel House Tavern, and the location alone makes it a memorable spot. The setting is iconic and hard to beat, especially if you are visiting the area. The standout for us was the fries, which were genuinely the best I have ever had. That said, the food and atmosphere did feel a bit more corporate than we typically prefer, which took away slightly from the overall charm. Still, it was an enjoyable meal in a beautiful location, and worth visiting at least once for the setting alone.
