Our family thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at Barrel House Tavern, celebrating my son's birthday. The food and drinks were exceptional, the view from our table window was beautiful and the ambience warm and comfortable. What impressed me the most was the support shown by the maître d to his staff. The restaurant was busy but the service did not suffer. The maître d greeted customers, took drink and appetizer orders and checked in to ensure everyone was happy. We already look forward to a return visit.

This is our “go to” place in Sausalito for my wife and I so we decided to take our visitors from Canada here. Everything was going well until my order, the bone in veal chop special, arrived more than 5 minutes later than everyone else's main course. The issue is that when my order arrived, there was a barely an apology or any offers to adjust our bill. Sad.
We had a lovely view of the bay from our outside bar seats perch. We started with the sourdough bread rolls, followed by the butternut squash soup and flatbread. It was fresh, flavorful, and the perfect night out.

Came here for my partners birthday thinking it would be a pleasant experience, but it was hardly that. First, our server took an extended period of time to even take our order and was not personable. My drink came back with a bug in it. He then brought me another drink but had no courtesy to take it off the bill or provide a proper apology. Our food was extremely mediocre. We ordered an $18 salad that looked wilted, old and premade with zero protein. Protein would've been an extra $10! The Ahi tacos were decent but lacked depth and flavor. The mushroom ravioli might have been the most decent dish we got. It was my wife's birthday and I told the hostess in the front about it and she told me "tell your server". At that point it seemed like their system was so disorganized I did not even bring it up to my server. I wasted a lot of money eating at a poor place like this. Will not be back and will not be recommending this to anyone.

Had a reservation for 2:30. Didn't get sat until 3. Waited a whole hour for food to arrive since we ordered. Fries were a little soggy. Like it was sitting out for awhile. Other tables got their food before we did. For the price, do better.
