As always our experience at Sushi Ran was exemplary. The food is always wonderful, with new additions and old favorites on the menu. Unique among Japanese restaurant, the folks at Sushi Ran stay creative and at the top of their game. The raw fish is great, and the cooked food is delicious and delightful. Tradition and innovation go hand in hand in harmony in so much of the food. Service is attentive but un-intrusive. Quality is top notch in all respects. Sake menu is fabulous. We're always in awe, even after our umpteenth visit over 21 years.

Absolutely delicious and felt very special. Everything we ordered was so good. I was worried about the final bill, because we kept ordering and ordering all evening, but in the end, it came out to around $100 per person, including 2 of us had drinks, which is fair considering the quality and beauty of each dish. Super fresh sushi, creative bites, gorgeous presentation, friendly service that was attentive without being overbearing or pushy. Plus they brought out a birthday dessert for my son, which was a pleasant surprise (on the house!). We will be back. We had soooo many items, and of course never felt stuffed or gross- just content and happy!

Mmmmm this was gooooood sushi. Personal fav was the tuna roll. All was tasty. Oh and the eggplant dish is a must! Service was immaculate, great spot on a Friday evening.

Everything was wonderful except the tea--the genmai cha had no flavor whatsoever! Also, since we were eating sushi, it would have been nice to have a hot towel to clean our hands before picking up the sushi in our fingers...

There is no shortage of sushi places in the Bay Area but this Sausalito classic is in a category of its own. Truly outstanding sushi at prices that are reasonable given the quality. All of that on the Bay is Sausalito. They also have a great sake choice and good Coravin wine selection
A SFO chef recommended this place to us. I totally understand they it's considered one of the best sushi restaurants in the US. I'm a sushi fanatic and this place for the Omakase menu was the best ever. Extremely affordable for what they call a 13 course menu. The sushi chef was incredible. Every piece mouth-watering. If you're in Sausalito, then definitely a no-brainer to eat here and if you are in SFO, well worth the ferry boat to come over. It's a few blocks off the water so you're not eating at a touristy over-priced locale.

Food is always excellent, and comes out speedily from the kitchen. The issue however, was annoying flies in the back outdoor area. Also, when I tried to back my chair out from the table, it's stuck on the rough flooring, and, since it was a slightly downhill grade, I tumbled backwards and hit my head. Luckily, I was OK.

Sushi Ran is a fabulous restaurant. The food is top quality, and the atmosphere transports you to Japan. I celebrated my 41st birthday and got a surprise treat from the staff. It was a beautiful and memorable experience!
