Taste of the Himalayas Sausalito

We stopped by for lunch with family after visiting Muir Woods. When we arrived, there were only two other customers in the restaurant. We ordered onion pakoda, garlic naan, vegetable vindaloo, and the monthly special greens curry.
The pakoda was good, but the vindaloo tasted like it came from a bottle and was watered down. Despite specifically requesting that the curries not be mild, both arrived quite mild. The greens curry was just okay—edible, but not memorable. The naan was average, with grainy garlic that seemed to come from a shaker.
Service was decent, but the food took a surprisingly long time to arrive, especially given how few customers were there. Overall, I wouldn’t choose to dine here again.

Small Indian restaurant with charming ambience. The Chana Masala was tasty, but the portion of chicken was surprisingly small. The coconut shrimp was equally disappointing, with a small portion of shrimp. It was nice to have the option of having the food completely without any spice. The highlight here was the friendly service.

Went here for the first time in many years and was pleasantly surprised. They seemed to be short staffed with one waitress but managed to still give excellent service. Food we had was excellent. Our waitress offered us more rice when she saw we still had sauce left from our dishes but nothing else. Maybe a small thing but not charging extra for rice and providing more is a nice change from so many restaurants that charge for a small serving of rice. Will plan to go back again more.

Outstanding food, always. I brought two friends for their first visit, and both will be back with their own friends, they said. For special occasions and many lunches, the clientele is Indian or Himalayan, which says a lot! Each dish is carefully explained, and we often were asked if everything was up to the level we expect
ed. Dishes here are delicious with enough left to take home for another meal. I've been many times, and every time, I am delighted with a superior and memorable experience. This is exactly what a meal out should be.

Parking: A few spaces in front and plenty of open parking in the rear. Conveniently located on Bridgeway, off the Golden Gate Bridge. Colorful Himalayan flags are seen from the street.

Our fav restaurant in Sausalito. Best garlic naan and Dal ever had…..The only thing better than the cuisine is the service. Family-owned and operated, dining here is an exceptional experience because they cater to your taste and work as efficient team to ensure your needs are exceeded. Come for lunch or dinner and you won’t be disappointed .

This place was a treasure we found that when friends flown in to visit us in Santa Clara we drove them to here to show it off multiple times.

We are moving now to Seattle and it's part of our going out of the way drive to have lunch because we are so in love with the food and place we simply must one more time.

We were in Sausalito and just stumbled across this hidden gem. Amazing food, great ambience and the service was simply amazing. My husband has some food allergies and they made sure he was well taken care of. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

Chicken momos were an excellent appetizer, warm and juicy
All the curries were delicious, food came out promptly.
