Esparza Restaurant, now located in a new spot after the earthquake, is a well-known establishment in the community, serving both Mexican and American food with generous portion sizes. The menu is pretty large for such a small joint, which seats only 39 people. Prices are on the higher side but fair for the area, and the food is outstanding—some of the best Mexican around. Standout menu items include the wet carnitas burrito, street taco plate, chorizo or veggie and bacon breakfast burritos, and delicious quesadillas. The service is fast, and the staff is lovely, though the place could use a little cleaning. It’s a quaint, recommended stop for travelers passing through, especially on a road trip. The real home-cooked food makes it a lucky find in this part of the world.
