The only restaurant to eat at in Sequoia, we made reservations ahead of time as suggested. The first night our reservation was at 9. It was extremely loud with a party of 17, the hostess Brooke seated us right next to the loud table, we asked to move seeing there were plenty of tables, she had an attitude about it. We waited and got a corner table by the window which was so much better. The service was great thanks to our server Andrea! The pork chop was very good as we read in prior reviews. The next night our reservation was at 7:15; we were running late and tried to call the restaurant but you can only talk to the front desk, they told me they spoke with hostess and to come at 7:45. Arrived and the same hostess was there with an extremely bad attitude telling me my reservation was canceled. She was rude and combative in arguing with me. We waited in the lobby which was extremely hot, we had a star tour at 9 and could not wait any longer, so we ordered from the bar to go and sat on the nice cool patio which was way better than the loud dining room. Her attitude was the worse I've ever encountered, It's definitely no way to treat customers. Other than her everyone we dealt with was very nice.
We ate here 4 times during our stay in the area and tried new entrees each time. Everything was absolutely delicious each visit and the service was great. Kudos to the staff and special thank you to our server Karen who provided excellent service.
Freundliches Personal, leckeres Essen. Wir hätten uns etwas mehr "urchige" Atmosphäre gewünscht.
Excellent Pot Roast! Surprisingly also available in the child menu which was a hit for our kids. Gave us all the energy we needed for our sunset climb at Moro Rock.
Food was excellent. We had the salmon and pork chops. The service was not good. The server barely acknowledged us when we got there and we seemed to be an irritant to him that he had to come check on us and take our order. He was not friendly at all. The views and ambiance were very nice!
We had light dinners due t late lunch on travel day Salads were very good. Waitress was patient with two late arrivals.
The food was overall pretty decent. My husband had the pot roast which he really enjoyed. I had the chicken Marsala which was okay but really didn't taste like there was any Marsala in it and it should have had more mushrooms. The risotto was very good and the roasted carrots were good too. The menu had good variety which is helpful when you are in a place with no other choice.
This definitely not a « business casual » restaurant. It is fine, if not over priced for what you get, but there are not many options within the park for anything more than sandwiches.
The overall experience was good, but the food was somewhat average in terms of flavour. It's a bit on the pricier side, but that's fine since they are in the middle of a forest!
Alfredo was not totally made from scratch. There was a very chemical taste. The stake was very greesy. 5$ for splitting the plates? Com´ on. Also the listed price were not the same as we hot on a receipt. Of course we hot higher to pay..
In the busiest day of the year, we decided to endure the crowds at the park and made reservations weeks before arriving. Not knowing what to expect at all, we were pleasantly surprised by a quiet and serene restaurant with beautiful views of the trees. The small windows that accompanied the viewing ones allowed fresh cool breezes to enter. Service was spot on and pleasant. We shared the pulled pork sandwich and summer berry salad. Spending the majority of my life in the south, I hold high standards for such a meal; zero disappointment. It was perfect and I would not change a thing. Tye toasted brioche bun added just the flavor and crunch to turn this sandwich from good to perfection. Now that salad, we couldn't finish it, yes that big and must have had about $8 worth of the sweetest berries on it. Paired with the feta, candied nuts and balsamic, I could eat that every day. Granted our hopes weren't very high upon booking, due to being a remote tourist situation, but they knocked it out of the park and were equally surprised at the bill. Expecting it to be “tourist” rates, it wasn't! Same as we would pay at any spot at home.
Food and ambience were good, but the service was poor. It isn't ideal when you have to flag down the wait staff multiple times to take your order. It took 10 mins to receive a menu, another 15 mins to take the order - not ideal when you are dining with hungry kids :). Either increase the wait staff or reduce # reservations.
The food was just okay. Some food was better than other. The salmon dish was the best it was both cooked and seasoned well. Service was slow.
Reservation required here. No walk-ins! The food was good, flavorful. I ordered the grilled salmon and totally devoured it. Service was excellent and efficient.
they were efficient, the food especially the brussel sprouts and pork chop were delicious: our server was fantastic. the view was pretty. loved this for a national park restaurant!
