What a wonderful local saloon! I've been riding my bike around the town for a little while. I saw the owner sitting out on the lovely porch. It was definitely cocktail hour for me. He invited me in and I had a wonderful glass of Sauvignon Blanc as I sat with him on the porch. During the next 10 minutes six more folks came in for a drink. It was wonderful to meet so many locals with such friendly and engaging conversation. My second glass of wine was a wonderful Zinfandel from the fair play area near my home and Carson City. This is a wonderful place to meet and enjoy a libation and good company.

Stop by for a drink and stay to enjoy it with locals on the front deck. Depending on who joins you, you'll get lots of good info about hikes in the area, local bird watching, how to get down to the river, local history, the historical cemetery, and, well, why people live in Sierra City! The pace is slow, but neighbors are real. Specialty drinks (like jalapeño or blood orange margaritas!) and occasional snacks (like organic popcorn brought in on some kind of schedule) are extra treats, if you hit it right.
