I was here for a quick birthday lunch for my husband. We ordered our food that consisted of Kaprow, boat noodles, and egg rolls then sat down. A few minutes later other customers who came after us and ordered there food as well. My husband got his Kaprow and waited until I got my food before he started eating. In the meantime the other table started getting their bowl of noodles as we continued to wait. Then our egg rolls came and we started eating it thinking the boat noodles will be out soon. I told my husband he should start eating as the food was getting cold. As my husband was half-way done and people were picking up orders to-go I still did not get my food. I stood up and the waitress came to tell me my food will be out shortly. My husband was done eating and I eventually had to cancel my order. I really wanted to give this place a try but was really disappointed with their service. Not sure if I'll give it another chance anytime soon.

Excellent all the way through. Top-notch service every time.
Cook to order Thai food. Can get spicy, if you like it that way.

I was not prepared for how much flavor I encountered. It was just a soup but every sip was packed with flavor that my mind couldn't figure out what to do with.

It took over 30 mins to get our to-go order. Not at all acceptable especially at lunch hour. The place wasn’t even full

The food was absolutely delicious and full of flavor! We ordered : Thai ice tea, Thai coffee, larb with tripe, Thai papaya salad, Lao sausages and shrimp fried rice. The service was excellent friendly and attentive from start to finish. I truly enjoyed my experience here and will definitely be coming back for their larb!

Simple and cute spot in a strip mall- picked up takeout and it was delicious with generous portions! There’s good Thai food all over Long Beach/South Bay but Lao food is more unique so I was happy to come across Owl Owl and it didn’t disappoint. Get the nam khao (crispy rice and herb salad) or a container of jeow (sweet/sour/spicy sauce that goes well on everything), you won’t regret it.
The food I’ve tried ranges from good to great. I come here when craving Lao sausage. The Nam Kao is good, too. My biggest complaint is that there is no customer restroom! Every time I come here I always have to HIKE to another establishment and pretend I’m interested in their products to use their restroom!

I've tried most of the Thai places around Long Beach and surrounding areas, most of them look at me crazy when I ask for peanut sauce or just offer crushed peanuts. This place not only has it, but they serve it hot like it's supposed to be!! It's different than other places, in a good way. They use a red sauce infused into the dish, and you can tell it's definitely on another level, not your average pad thai... this is the real deal . 😎
The thai boat is really good but I wish there were more meats. The cashier on the weekend was very cute. I had a crush on her lol 😆
Indeed there is no restroom here so prepare before arriving.
Caveat, growing up eating homemade Lao food, am a bit selective.
Kao poon. Broth is how I remember with chicken, semi sweet (coconut), salty, and a bit spicy. Additional dry chili topping but would have preferred fresh chilies.
Mok pla. Could use more spice, otherwise other than the salmon, similar flavor especially with the herbs, the dill is what gives it a nice herby fragrance.
Pad woon sen. With chicken. Good but not quite enough. Missing the soy/oil aroma, a hint of it is there but not strong enough for me and the noodle a bit overcooked and prefer with tomatoes for acidity.

I was under the impression that if you are a Dine in Restaurant you have to have a bathroom for customers to take a leak?! Take Out Only I guess... 🥴 Oh yeah, Fried Rice was ok. Papaya Salad was on point.
