Don't come here. The food is decent, but if they are gonna have only one person run the whole front thing, make it someone that is good at it. You will wait, get the wrong order and /or missing toast. Wrong food. She has to do everything. Phone, to go, wait tables....with no help. Bad management.

I can't tell you how excited we were to find out The Nook and their staff were coming to Signal Hill. We began our brunch experiences with these folks at the location in Lomita, CA and loved it. We have taken several of our business associates as well as family members to enjoy phenomenal food and service here. If you want to be warmly greeted head to The Nook. If you want your meal served promptly and hot head to The Nook. If you want to feel at home head to The Nook. Over the years we have tried many dishes and it's a hit every time

I came here hoping to find a less crowded but nonetheless delicious breakfast spot on a lazy Sunday. Mission accomplished. Service was great and the place is so new you can still smell the fresh paint. The acoustics are pretty harsh so if full it would be quite loud but in a way that turns it all into white noise so it works. Feels a bit cold still maybe just the newness of everything needs to be worn in a bit. I'd recommend reducing the portion sizes and improve your margins if I were in charge just because the servings are huge and you could win both ways by higher profits and still large enough portions. I ordered the John Wayne with a side of pancakes and ate about half of it and it was too much. Seems like a kid friendly place and can accommodate at least one or two larger parties with some arranging of the tables. Definitely want to come back and try some more items off the menu. A lot of the breakfast menu is American style or Mexican inspired and so many variations to go for. The pancakes were the best I've had in a while just the right amount of moisture and fluff and sweet.

Food was ok. I had the biscuits and gravy and my wife had their Nook breakfast. It was nothing to brag about. Service was good. Atmosphere was chill.

My husband and I stopped by for breakfast. Service was exceptional and breakfast was good. I had the green chilaquiles with eggs. It was good but could use a little spice to it. Definitely coming back when on the area again. The gentleman who took care of us was very nice and thorough.

The staff is very welcoming and provided great recommendations. I have been looking for a local spot that offers "machaca" and they did not disappoint. I will be back again!

Glad to have this open within walking distance of home. Breakfast was yummy. Coffee was hot and not burnt tasting. I had avocado toast and really enjoyed it. Husband had chilaquiles that were also good. We'll be back.

Walked in this morning, there was no one to greet you or seat you. Waited a minute and had to yell to the kitchen we were there. We were told to wait. I decided that it wasn't worth the hassle, if you only have two workers onsite good luck. If you get that treatment just going in I guarantee the service would be horrible. We decided to leave since nobody came to seat us. There was only one table with guest. There was no reason to make customers wait to be seated. Seems like they don't want to hire anyone so they can get all the tips. Very bad first impression!! We ended up going elsewhere and got great service.

We waited like 3 years for this place to open, only for it to be an utter disappointment. We used live in the South Bay and went down to Lomita for the Nook so we were so excited when we saw one was opening in Signal Hill. We tried it twice, once was opening week and the biscuit and gravy was so flavorless and my scramble mediocre. But we decided to give it another shot. We tried again today and my french toast was GRAY. When I cut through them the bread was like a yellow color and the outside was just gray and had way too much cinnamon. My husband got the eggs benedict and it was so bland. We didn't even finish our food, dining out is so expensive these days and it sucks when you look forward to a meal out, only for everything to be bad and then pay $40 for it. I'm so sad to say that we wont be returning.
