“My girlfriend and I absolutely love sourdough bread, and well honestly, bread in general. That said, we’re always on the hunt for a good local spot wherever we go. Anytime we travel to a new area, we make a point to seek out small bakeries or mom-and-pop shops, because that’s where the real magic happens, the kind of goodies that feel like it came from someone’s soul, not a factory. That’s exactly what we found at Pence Farm Sourdough. We’ve been visiting since pretty close to their opening days, and even though we don’t live full-time in Sonora, we make it a point to swing by every time we’re in town. It’s become one of those rituals, the type of stop that you genuinely look forward to when you’re headed up the hill. The bread speaks for itself, but getting to know Jim and Sunny and seeing their family involved, at the shop and the farmers markets, just makes the whole experience that much better. It’s real. It’s wholesome. It’s local done right. As far as favorites go? Man, that’s a tough one. The Cinnamon Roll Focaccia hits so hard I’ve caught myself daydreaming about it. I could honestly eat a whole one to myself (and may or may not have tried). The Bacon Gouda loaf? Fire. That Peach Toast? Next-level. Everything I’ve had has been exquisite. Even their sandwiches are on point, I had a turkey, bacon, avocado with sprouts that was fresh, flavorful, and built just right. I was stuffed lol... The thing is, this isn’t just good bread. It’s memorable bread. It’s the kind of bread you talk about later. It’s the kind of place you tell your friends about, and then insist on taking them there. Huge shoutout to the Pence Farm family, thank you for doing what you do and for keeping the sourdough culture alive and thriving up in Sonora. We’ll definitely keep supporting and look forward to each visit. If you’re in or around Sonora, or even just passing through, do yourself a favor and stop in. You won’t be disappointed! - Shawn Hernandez“

“Vonnie made our wedding cake and it was so delicious. We don’t normally go for strawberry flavored cakes but it was hands down the best cake I’ve ever tasted. She did a beautiful job incorporating our wedding flowers as well. It was so pretty!“

“Baked goods are on point. Coffee is average. Tons of food choices and they are super accommodating with preferences/allergies, etc. That being said, I'm unsure if all of this was worth the 15-30 minutes I spent waiting in a long line and then for my food. Could probably easily be fixed by updating the logistics of the place (extra cashier, expedited ordering process).“

“I am Schnoogs newest number 1 fan!! As someone who has been gluten free for two years, I could not be more impressed with Schnoogs’ selection and variety of GF products. Hands down the best GF scones I have ever had (and I live in NYC). I’ve had the breakfast sandwich with gluten free bread twice now and it’s been amazing. Delicious GF/ vegan brownies, GF cookies and wedges (GF biscuit with bacon, cheese, chives). Sally and the entire staff have been so lovely every time we’ve been in - our new friends in town!! Couldn’t recommend Schnoogs enough! Can’t wait to come back every time I’m in town and try something new off the amazing menu.“
