The menu looks affordable at first, but be prepared to pay an extra $5 if you order rice and beans. On top of that, they force you to pay a 20% tip. The location is great, but once you step inside, you’re trapped.

The fajita bowls were delicious and plentiful. The margaritas and bloody marys were fantastic. We especially liked sitting outside on the patio along a beautiful stream. Emily, our server, was friendly and efficient. The prices were terrific. We highly recommend this restaurant.

Very good food and drinks are refreshing. Best mexican food in Sonora. Highly recommend visiting. Sit outside along the creek or inside in the A.C.

The nachos here were so good, this was the best food in the restaurant I ended up taking it home with me.

Everything here is so authentic—we’re especially obsessed with the tacos. Always hits the spot!

Went in for lunch as they were just opening. We found the parking was only available with a few spots in the public parking area across from Sonora police station . When we arrived there was 1 spot available . Wait staff greeted us right away and we chose a patio spot along side the creek . It was lovely. Our order was taken right away and discovered that the chips and salsa was an extra charge. Was very good though, I ordered the crispy asada tacos with the Diablo salsa , the waitress mentioned they were pretty small so did I want to add rice and beans ( at an additional cost ) I said no as I assumed three tacos would be enough. They arrived and were tiny 2 bite tacos ! Although they were delicious they were the tiniest tacos I’ve ever eaten. My husband had the 3 chicken enchiladas with red sauce , they too were good but no rice and beans, no lettuce or condiments . We both had ice tea but again it was $ 39.00 and portions were so small . Very good flavor though but won’t be returning

Good location, that’s about it. Bland food, passive aggressive service. Had to ask for our beers twice. Had to ask for our forks twice. They put a serve of rice on our bill that was included with the main (carne asada). Go to Taqueira Sonora instead.

I really wish I could give this place a good review, but I can't. The first thing you notice is that they don't give you chips and salsa unless you order it and pay for it. $2. Well, we did order it but never got it. We also ordered guacamole and never got it. On the table they give you a napkin and a fork; that's it! No salt, no pepper , no hospitality. We decided to split a burrito, but they gave us no extra plate and no knife with which to divide it. I was not impressed with the quality of the burrito. We won't be going back. Sadly, many of the good Mexican restaurants are closed on Sundays. That leaves you with only this mediocre restaurant.

we have been coming to El Arroyo since they opened, but the last few to-go orders have been less than acceptable. last night, we didn't get our tortillas for our fajitas (which is an ongoing issue), the tacquitos and flour chips (which we had to remind them to give us) tasted like the oil they were cooked in was old and burnt, and we ordered rice and whole beans but got two orders of rice. This happened the last THREE times we got to go orders. At this point, we are not sure we will be back. We have been charged for all these t, but you aren't holding up your end of the deal.

Group of 12. Our drinks came two at a time. Chips and salsa came an hour later. Food came an hr and a half later. Which it didn’t all come at once took 30min for everyone to get their food. My chicken was cold by the time I got my tortillas. Charged me for chips and salsa when one wasn’t suppose to be on my bills. Charged a 20% tip when it was just about the worse experience I have had and I am a server.
