We love Pence Farm! All their breads are delicious, but I especially love their jalapeno cheddar bread. They do an amazing job. Very cute storefront and good vibe if you want to sit and eat. I also recently tried their avocado toast and it's honestly the best avocado toast I've ever had. 10/10, highly recommend.
You can tell they have a true passion for sourdough here. Breads are delicious and baked beautifully. But, make sure you also give their sourdough cookies a try too.

My girlfriend and I absolutely love sourdough bread, and well honestly, bread in general. That said, we’re always on the hunt for a good local spot wherever we go. Anytime we travel to a new area, we make a point to seek out small bakeries or mom-and-pop shops, because that’s where the real magic happens, the kind of goodies that feel like it came from someone’s soul, not a factory. That’s exactly what we found at Pence Farm Sourdough. We’ve been visiting since pretty close to their opening days, and even though we don’t live full-time in Sonora, we make it a point to swing by every time we’re in town. It’s become one of those rituals, the type of stop that you genuinely look forward to when you’re headed up the hill. The bread speaks for itself, but getting to know Jim and Sunny and seeing their family involved, at the shop and the farmers markets, just makes the whole experience that much better. It’s real. It’s wholesome. It’s local done right. As far as favorites go? Man, that’s a tough one. The Cinnamon Roll Focaccia hits so hard I’ve caught myself daydreaming about it. I could honestly eat a whole one to myself (and may or may not have tried). The Bacon Gouda loaf? Fire. That Peach Toast? Next-level. Everything I’ve had has been exquisite. Even their sandwiches are on point, I had a turkey, bacon, avocado with sprouts that was fresh, flavorful, and built just right. I was stuffed lol... The thing is, this isn’t just good bread. It’s memorable bread. It’s the kind of bread you talk about later. It’s the kind of place you tell your friends about, and then insist on taking them there. Huge shoutout to the Pence Farm family, thank you for doing what you do and for keeping the sourdough culture alive and thriving up in Sonora. We’ll definitely keep supporting and look forward to each visit. If you’re in or around Sonora, or even just passing through, do yourself a favor and stop in. You won’t be disappointed! - Shawn Hernandez

First off let me say I hate leaving anything other than a 5 star review, especially something family owned and a small business. I was so excited to try this place as we aren’t local. I had been seeing your company pop up on a lot and I had been wanting to try your sourdough for awhile. When I walked in it was early morning around 9 something, maybe 10. I want to say the store smelled like heaven. It really smelled amazing in there. The guy at the counter didn’t seem like he wanted to help me at all just not much wanting to interact with people? Kinda odd, but that’s fine I understand we all have our days. I was most disappointed with the bread. I don’t know if it was a bit undercooked but it tasted way too dough like and was lacking flavor. I ended up throwing the entire loaf away. Better luck next time maybe?

Jalapeño cheddar sourdough was incredible and actually spicy. Their apple honey toast was also delicious. Happy to support local bakery

Came to walk around and explore all the shops and came across this Bakery. Glad we did. I love sourdough, it's my favorite bread. We saw that they carried garlic swiss sourdough but it wasn't ready just yet. Came back a little later and it was still warm and we left with two loaves lol. Having it with dinner as we speak and it is amazing! ❤️

The bread is absolutely amazing but the hours of operation are very misleading. I've come by twice now a little after 3:00 and they've been closed. I learned my lesson get your bread early.

If you are in Sonora get your sandwiches at Pence Farm Sourdough. I got the roast beef sandwich and it was the best. Everything was fresh. The bread, tomatoes, cheese and just enough condiments.
I just finished my sandwich about an hour ago and I'm wanting another. The sandwich is well worth the price.
So if you're in Sonora give Pence Farm Sourdough a try. You'll love it.
