Delicious and healthy food at a great price! I've been subscribed for a couple of months now (Paleo Plus dinners) and I am so grateful to the Foodsmith team and Chef Jamie! I'm eating better than ever thanks to them.
I LOVE THE COMPANY! CLEAN AND PROFESSIONAL. NOT TO MANTON, GOOD CHOICE OF FOOD!
Really wanted to like this place with few choices of meal prep in Santa Cruz. I bought one week of breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There is something really off about their eggs, they have some weird coat of slime on them. Everything they make is on a bed of spinach which smells and tastes old. The chicken, which is almost every meal, is inedible dry. The smell and taste of the breakfast my 2nd day literally made me vomit. This place is going to make someone really sick at some point, and I wouldn’t feed it to my dog. It was so bad that I didn’t even pick up my second installment of meals halfway through the week. They don’t have an actual person you can talk to, only email, so I wrote them twice asking for a refund and an explanation of why they are serving this to people. They didn’t even have the class to respond to my email. This is clearly a dying business, which is probably in the best interest of everyone’s health. Look elsewhere.

Great food. I'm very pleased with this service. Healthy food at a good price. I highly recommend this food.
Healthy ready to eat meals delivered twice a week. What more could I want? Maybe a pescatarian option, I'd pay extra.
By far the best ready meal provider in Salinas! Due to my heavy work schedule I don’t have time to shop or make my meals. These are the healthiest and best tasting meals I’ve found.
Food is okay. Super healthy and typically very edible. Hate the salads - often contain wilted, rotten lettuce, even on delivery day.Delivery drivers can’t follow instructions and ring the doorbell, so yet again my order was stolen minutes after delivery. Caught it all on the Ring doorbell cam.A few weeks back, there was no evidence of a delivery at all on my Ring doorbell, and the manager was super rude to me - treated me like I was lying instead of taking accountability for the fact that they delivered to the wrong place.I am again without food and having to shop/meal prep after already paying them. The manager told me last time, when they never delivered, that they “won’t refund for stolen food ever again”. I did ask that the manager’s email be forwarded to the owner, but nothing ever came of it.I should never have given them another chance to put me in this position. And today is thanksgiving… great day to be completely without food and having to find an open grocery store ? Plus I’m out the grocery money I paid for this order…
Good keto options for dinner!
Great company fresh healthy meals.

Fabulous! Food and service are wonderful. Restaurant-quality dinner at home for a reasonable price and delicious. I order the vegan dinners and every one is scrumptious. Highly recommend!
I placed my first order last week and picked up my bag on my way to work. Upon arriving I unzipped the bag to find a most amazing array of colorful and artfully created meals. Each of them has a distinct personality and worldwide cuisine... I love my Foodsmith food! I am looking forward to my next set on Thursday. Officially I will sign up for weekly meals because as a 40+ hour a week RN I need to keep myself healthy and avoid fast food that was becoming my norm. Thank you for this wonderful and delicious start to my week!
Ok, I have only just begun our FoodSmith journey so I will update as we use the service longer. We have eaten 2 dinners and 2 lunches so far. We get paleo plus meals in the large size. We are a family of 3. My daughter is 11 and she is an adventurous eater. She has loved everything so far!!! My husband is taking the lunches to work and he has been very happy with the portion and flavor. He has a physical job so needs a good amount of food.I love the flavors, the different textures, and the wonderful sauces. The veggies have been perfectly cooked and the portions have been spot on. We had a tri tip dinner one night and a fantastic sausage dinner last night. Previously, we had been doing Blue Apron meals, but I was looking for a healthier, low waste option. It is an added bonus that I no longer have to add cooking into our very busy evening routine. What a dream come true! The delivery was perfect. The food comes in reusable cooler bags with ice at the bottom. You set them outside the night before the next delivery. The food was cold and packaged and presented beautifully.I am so excited about FoodSmith! You can change things up and order lunches for dinner if you want. Or even do breakfast for lunch! The high quality of the food is on par with the reasonable cost of each meal. After doing many different meal kits, I am most excited about FoodSmith because it has freed up so much of my time, it is a local service, we have reduced, waste, and best of all the food is absolutely delicious and healthy.
I really wanted to love this service but unfortunately I didn't. The food seemed tired and stale. Cucumbers in the salads were mushy and gross. Vegan options were mainly sweet potatoes, over kill, do vegans really eat sweet potatoes for every meal? Paleo Plus options were good but not good enough or varied enough for me to commit to a subscription, protein + grain + sparse veggies + tomatoe sauce, boring. I mean, really, two broccoli spears per meal is not enough. I heard that it is no longer run by the original proprietor, too bad. Containers don't hold up or store well and are not air tight, they just got soggy, I just threw away about a third of my order. Disappointed ?
