We ordered a round of appetizers and entrees. Then we went back and ordered a full second round. Then we bought food to bring home. It was that good.

Wow wow wow. This is my favorite kind of place. Extraordinary, local, rotating food menu and bevs (especially loved the wine selection ). You are paying for the food not over the top service, but everyone who worked there was exceptionally kind and helpful. So jealous this isn’t my neighborhood place.

Phenomenal food and a really unique, interesting menu! Great wine list as well. Would recommend to anyone as a great lunch or dinner spot. I love an original take on a recipe, and everything I’ve tried at Home Away is honestly not like any other restaurant I’ve ever been to. Don’t hesitate, just go.

Hard, fast, loud music. Cold metal chairs. Order at counter. Bus your own tables. Not relaxing. Food was so so. It may have been what I chose. We went on a day when they were having a problem with plumbing, so add paper plates and wooden/plastic utensils to the mix. I have no desire to come back anytime soon.
Farm to table kind of place and big enough portions to share!
My favorite dish was the tripe in spicy tomato sauce and the ceaser salad was a close second place. We will be back to try their soups that we saw everyone ordering.

Home Away is good eat with gourmet food, but you’re paying top price for a take out type of venue. Caesar salad was 5 star. Chicken good, but not great. Clams good, but not great (3.5 stars). We’ll return to try again.
Btw…Home restaurant is still our fave dining establishment in SC.

Oh my God this food is incredible!!!!! Got the Fogline pate, the trumpet mushroom poke bowl, and the beef cheek empanadas. Everything was delicious, but the trumpet mushrooms were off the charts, sweet and tender like vegan scallops. Tanuki cider is a perfect accompaniment. What a great lunch date 😍
Cozy, creative , healthy lunch spot focusing on high quality local meat and fish; such as charcuterie plate, chicken liver pate, rock cod , duck , home made sausage with special condiment . It’s a fun place to enjoy solo or with friends for lunch. I try to eat this way at home , but it’s hard and time consuming to make food like this. I am grateful for this spot since the food is locally sourced and is of great quality.
