I find this restaurant to be a very sweet treat. It's the only place in town. I can find beef cheeks, if you've never had them you should try them. The most delectable mouthwatering, juicy meat falls apart in your mouth like butter. I miss when they used to have the pizza oven, but everything else is rather delicious so I'll let it pass. Don't be over sold by the squid ink pasta, it's not that great. Always order the Barada, it's super fresh and absolutely delicious

Let's start with the location that has a true coastal vibe. Unpretentious while having an air of high class sophistication in 'natural way'. Be sure to check out their outdoor dining in the back, and their own farm to fork garden. The staff are exceptional at their craft. Knowledgeable and engaging. I believe they love what they do. It's great team! The menu offering is unique and creative. To this point I had a vegetarian offering that I would never of considered as a meat and potato man. I'm smiling as I write this as I would definitely have it again if I had not tasted my wife's beef cheeks with delicious gnocchi. Enough to share with a dear friend. Great dish. We all shared and finished with a panna cotta' desert. I felt like I was on vacation, even as a local.... Be sure to go HOME. You'll be glad you did

We had a fantastic dining experience at The Home Restaurant in Soquel, Ca. The service was incredible. Always checking on us and refilling our water and getting us whatever we needed. The atmosphere was cozy and not too loud or cramped. We sat inside and were able to hold a conversation without yelling. Finally the food.... So delicious and well presented. Every appetizer, entree and dessert was made to perfection. Portions are a bit on the small side, but the food quality more than makes up for it. I'm giving "Home" restaurant a solid 4.5 out of 5!

I was really sad to not have the same experience that so many people have here. The staff are 5 stars all the way and very accommodating throughout the evening. The focaccia is good with a nice herby butter, but the charcuterie board was a basic cheese with a few different kinds of ham and some mustard. I was hoping for at least a unique cheese or a few different kinds. The fried chicken was too salty and the beef cheeks were lacking flavor. My friend sent back her crab pasta because the flavor was not very good. She asked me to try it and my first and only bite had crab shell in it. Maybe I came on an off night but I wasn't crazy about any dish we tried which was a bummer. Still, the service is awesome and they kept refilling our sparkling water. I would come back to try some different dishes.

The food was fantastic! I got the ricotta gnocchi and my boyfriend got the black cod. We both enjoyed the back patio area, it was chilly, but the staff were so friendly to offer blankets and heating lamps! The hostess was so kind too, there's a reason they call this place home.

I saw this place on a wedding photographers post on instagram. I was in the area so I decided to do a walk-in not having too many expectations in mind. The reviews online looked good and I was hoping to get a table. I waited for 20 mins and the staff was super friendly asking if we wanted drinks while we waited and answered our questions. Everyone seemed to have a reservation so I would recommend making one when you want to eat here. I got the focaccia bread with the whipped butter in the clam shell which was delicious. The butter lettuce salad which was light and flavorful. They mentioned the cauliflower dish was the most popular, but I will have to try that the next round. The pork pasta dish was also delicious, but the real winner was the gnocchi. It was small, but incredible. I will be craving it until the next time I’m in town. The only negative is the servers weren’t too attentive even when the night began to quiet down. Other than that I would say check out this spot!

I was so excited to try Home after having an amazing dinner at Lester Winery last year created by Chef Briske. My experience fell short, unfortunately...the service was off and it had a big impact on our experience. Three different servers helped us, but the server we were told would be helping us never showed until we requested the check. The Foccacia we wanted to order was sold out (we were a later reservation, so I will give them that), the salad was good, but nothing stood out about it. The pasta dishes two of us ordered (pappardelle) were overly salty. I left disappointed. I may try them again because so many love them. Maybe an off night?

This is probably one of my favorite restaurants in Santa Cruz. The first time I came here I was with a very large group of people and the service we received was great! Not only did our food come out quick but everyone's order was correct as well. Although it seems they change their menu quite often, I throughly enjoyed the Halibut dish I ordered and after trying others dishes, I just fell in love. The ambience of this restaurant is very calm and quiet and I just love that they turned a previous beautiful home into a successful restaurant! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone I know, but to definitely check their updated menu beforehand!!

Starting with the ambiance Home is as you would hope, warm and welcoming. The staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgable! As for food, I would call the presentation "rustic" with large portions, and fantastic seasonings, it was all unique and delicious. Clearly the menu was built around what was fresh or even raised in the backyard garden! 10/10 - I would highly recommend Home for a special occasion or even just a fun night out with friends!

Booked a reservation here for dinner during a weekend vacation at SC and wanted something a little fancier. The restaurant itself is very cute and nestled within a bunch of single family homes, so you could almost miss it at first if not particularly observant. The indoor decor is similarly charming and all of the waitstaff were very welcoming and thoughtful. The menu (which apparently changes every day) was printed on a single sheet of paper, and there was a separate beverage/wine bottle list. When we were deciding which wine to get with our dinner, our server was very nice and offered to bring out a sample of both of the wines we were deciding between, which was helpful. I got the squid ink orecchiette with pork belly, whilst my partner ordered the Monterey Bay rock cod with risotto. I also ordered two fresh oysters for $4 each. Unfortunately, the oysters were a disappointment and incredibly, incredibly salty. The squid ink orecchiette was more flavorful but again, incredibly salty and decadently rich. Finally, we got the almond genoise with lemon curd and decaf coffee to finish (and because I wanted something that wasn't so... salty), which was thankfully not salty. The environment and ambiance of the restaurant itself is quite adorable, and the waitstaff are very attentive and helpful, so it's almost a shame to have to mention that the food was incredibly salty.

Wow. We've been meaning to try Home for a few years and finally got around to it last week. Food was excellent--creative and tasty--from beginning to end. And service was also very professional and friendly. Best meal we've had in Santa Cruz County in recent memory.
