Food is delicious. Chow mein is really good. Jalapeño chicken is very good. Good service. Plenty of tables to eat in. Very similar to the chinagate maywood had back in the days.

Weakened by a psychic reading that had me reeling "five years down the wrong path" and leftover cornbread in almond milk and a chocolate pancake - playing the bongos in my midsection - I had given up on the pursuit of consuming mere French fries alone. Open China Gate - the busy spot with its fast, friendly and flavorful buffet, was a warm and welcome alternative. Sandwiched between Burger One & Northgate Market the busy hot serve shop made my percussive duo into a quintet with fried rice, chow mein and stir-fried vegetables (broccoli). With two vegetable egg rolls it was $11-something. So being a spiritualist Lyft driver as foretold, to the exclusion of my "bought the dreams of others" entrepreneurial endeavors - would have to take a backseat.

My must go to whenever I'm back in my hometown! Hands down the best egg rolls bbq pork and beef&broccoli!! Every option is just utterly delicious from teriyaki chicken to the jalapeño chicken, chop suey, orange chicken you name it and it's good! Lol there's no place like China Gate!

I hadn't been to this place since before covid. Went today and the food is nasty. No flavor, cold and on top of that had to literally beg for extra hot sauce. Threw it away. Never again going there.
I went to this restaurant today and the food is amazing. Really good portions and reasonable prices. However you need to be patient with the servers as some of them are not fluent with English,overall good customer service and definitely will come again!

The food is ok. I think the orange chicken is actually pretty good since it's not too sweet but the reason for their low rating is for their service. I asked if they accepted Apple Pay and they said yes. Ok cool. I asked what is the difference between the chow meins that they have and instead of telling me he just started piling on the chow mein on the plate. I was like no I don't want that I want to know what is the difference. The guy started laughing and I was getting frustrated because I was getting an answer. The other guy came over who was a older man seemed to know what I was asking and told me one has soy sauce and the other has vegetables. So I got the one with veggies since I'm not into soy sauce. Then I got fried rice, orange chicken and spicy wings. When it was time to pay he just gestures his hand open and I assumed it meant to pay. He changed my phone with the Apple Pay and I saw a receipt come out. He takes the receipt and puts it in the cash register. I asked where is my receipt? He waves his hand no. Then I say I need my receipt and he gets mad and prints out a recipe and gives it to me. I ask for chopsticks and he says no and walks away. The other older guy comes over and I tell him I want chopsticks and he gives it to me. The younger guy seems to not know any English and is not understanding at all. When I got home I noticed the receipt he printed was the wrong receipt because it said I paid with cash and not with Apple Pay. I don't like that since I feel the receipt has confidential payment information and he gave me a fake receipt. I regret coming here and will definitely not be buying from here again. 0/10 do not recommend.
