Sonsonate Grill offers a delightful Salvadoran dining experience. The fried yucca with pork is a standout dish, cooked to perfection and served in a generous portion. The ambiance on the first floor is pleasant, with a lively bar atmosphere, while the second floor provides a quieter setting. Despite some service issues, the food remains consistently amazing, with highlights like the flavorful pupusas and the refreshing horchata. The restaurant serves as a nostalgic reminder of Salvadoran heritage, evoking happy memories.
The dining area on the first floor is too narrow, and the restaurant could use more tables. Some customers have mentioned a loud music and a strange smell when entering the building. While the pupusas may not be the greatest, the sea soup and mojarra are excellent. The plates are served well and fresh.
The pupusas are soft and the perfect size, with the curtido being perfect as well. The desayuno tipico is a must-try and never disappoints, whether you're Latino or not. The customer service is the best among Salvadoran restaurants, and the frijoles colochos are amazing.
