We stopped here during our California trip earlier in the month while some friends were checking out the Michael Myers house nearby. Got drinks and they were all delicious! We also got to sample some kind of sweet bread or pastry and it was just as good. The employees were pleasant and provided quick service. Will be back if we’re ever in the area again.
Many folks think La Monarca as simply a pan dulce bakery; however, there are far more than just some sweet breads that adorn their extensive menu for pastries, savory items, and crafted drinks. This Mexican bakery certainly has a complete list of items that will take many visits. There are even seasonal pastry items and an alignment with the pumpkin spice craze. Stopped in during my LA stay, and the energy of the staff and the vibe of space were on point. It is a bit small so if it was a busy time I can see how some people get annoyed/frustrated.

I had the Cafe Carmen and the Cafe Oaxaca and they were both so delicious! We also had the molletes and they were pretty good.

For drinks it’s a 5/5, the options and the taste are better than any chain in the area. The food can definitely be a bit fine...
