First time at the restaurant. We ordered the Dine LA menu which was a good value for the money. The food and service were excellent. We will go back
One of the best restaurants in the world. I dine all over the world. I can say about this restaurant. "Go and experience this wonderful restaurant and its team during your life. I have traveled to every continent and eat at the restaurants that are said to be the best in their area. Well, this restaurant "wins top 5 in the world". I had a customer favorite. The wonderful catfish with the delightful perfectly cooked vegetables of beets, green beans, and potatoes. I did not have room for desert since the portions were wonderful.
Shiro is our favorite restaurant! Owner Cheryl is a lovely person. Excellent food and service!
Shiro is a well known favorite and it has maintained it's standards over the years. The atmosphere is conducive to conversation and quietly elegant. Service is excellent as is the food.
Wonderful restaurant, lovely atmosphere, food is sensational, service attentive, top notch in every way!
For over 20 years we have been coming to this gem of a restaurant that does not disappoint. Perfect date night spot. The shrimp dish and catfish were excellent. Love this place
We enjoyed a delightful meal...the tuna carpaccio was fabulous and the filet was cooked perfectly and was so tender. Service was impeccable and friendly...plus the management was frequently ensuring our satisfaction. Definitely a great evening.
It's a little gem tucked away in South Pasadena. My palate was delighted throughout the whole experience. The staff and service were absolutely fantastic. I'll be back for more.

Uninspired food in an uninspiring atmosphere. They are quite a few better options at this price point.

I stumbled across Shiro by chance when the other restaurant we were planning to go to only had outdoor seating - and this wimp right here hates the cold. Truth is, I had never heard of Shiro and I thought to myself “Hmm, what is this place? I’m a professional eater and I’ve never heard of it so it can’t be that good.” Needless to say, I was a bit skeptical and very much wrong — I am SO happy to have ended up here. I must’ve been living under a rock as it is apparently a very well-loved, top-rated restaurant for more than 35 years now. Who knew? Anyway, I arrived dressed like a bag lady as I wasn’t planning on having dinner out after my nail appointment but they still welcomed me with open arms. The place was so charming, cute and cozy - an amazing vibe that feels like an upscale meal out while also casual enough that it’s not stuffy. And one of the co-owners, Sheryl, came by our table and was the kindest, sweetest soul ever - so incredibly welcoming and hospitable and even sent, not one, but TWO desserts our way even though we were stuffed from the literal best A5 Wagyu Filet, Scottish Salmon, and Prosciutto Salad I’ve had thus far.
I’m sooooo excited I uncovered this spot and pretty much plan on being a regular — and will drag all my friends to Shiro. New biggest fan. :)

I've been visiting SHIRO since ‘94. We love it for our Special Occasions. I brought my wife there for our first date & every time we go, Cheryl & her staff treat us with soo much care. We cannot stop giving them enough praises for their unparalleled hospitality & the food speaks for itself. We make it a point to have their Amazing Sizzling Catfish dish every time we go. They're the BEST..!!!
I'm seeing uni (sea urchin) pasta at other restaurants. It's more of butter pasta topped with uni. I went to Shiro to eat real uni pasta. I ordered my favorite truffle ravioli and split the uni pasta with a friend. I was stuffed and satisfied.
A bit disappointed. But overall is ok. The food is ok. The servers are very nice. There is a party going on so kind of noisy.
