I was a little hesitant to come based on mixed reviews but glad I did. Had a delicious take out meal for under $30. The only thing I didn't like was the meat, the pork slice in my shoyu ramen was too thick and tough for me. Otherwise the broth and egg were wonderful, I tried the spicy tuna with crispy rice appetizer and it did not disappoint. Iced matcha tea complimented the food perfectly with no need for sweetener. The food was a bit American-ized, but had great flavor. Can't wait to try the pork bun next time.

For years I've heard people rave about SilverLake Ramen. Ramen doesn't really get me excited, but PIC is a fan and since they opened a spot in South Pasadena we decided to stop in and check it out. Founded in SilverLake, CA. SilverLake Ramen was created with the intent to make ramen that combines delicious food with traditional, quality, fresh ingredients. The menu features a variety of creative ramen options in addition to buns, bowls, rolls, & pant-based offerings. The So. Pas location is in a shopping center, so there is plenty of parking. There's ample seating inside and on the patio. Christina cheerfully greeted us when we arrived. We shared the Edamame, which was lightly salted & fresh. It was perfectly steamed and had just the right amount of firmness. (I've been served slimy edamame at sushi restaurants in the past, which is gross!) PIC ordered the Blaze Ramen with chicken. It was picturesque, piping hot, and loaded with all the fixins. (Spicy creamy pork broth, bean sprouts, spinach, seaweed, green onion, seasoned egg & lots of ramen.) The portion size was very generous in terms of the price ($17.95). PIC couldn't finish it all. Another server came by to clear our table and asked how it was. PIC said it was the best ramen he's had in L.A. She said she doesn't particularly like ramen, but she loved the ramen served at SilverLake Ramen. I guess the hype is real. Next time I'll have to try the Veggie Ramen and see for myself. *Beer, sake, soju, & shochu only.

First of all I was super excited that this place opened and my review is upon going to this place like sixth time thinking that it'll get better~ The first time it was so salty I had to pour two cups of hot water so that it can be somewhat edible. The chicken on the other hand is juicy and delicious but aren't we here for the ramen?! All sixth time was super disappointing and I don't think I'll be coming back. Skip the sushi too please I tried most of them and I had to drop my chopsticks because I was done being disappointed with ramen and the sushi~ How can they make it better? I don't know but I hope they do! The staff members are okay they're super slow but quick to bring your check! Ha! Silverlake ramen has a cool vibe inside with great interior. It's clean, if you have absolutely no place to go but craving for ramen but you don't care about all the disappointment this is a place to go but if you're willing to look other good ramen spot skip this place. You'll thank me later!

3.5/5 Great to know that there is a silver lake ramen so conveniently located in the Pasadena area. No longer have to deal with the headaches of heavy traffic and limited parking. It is very convenient to get to, and there's a huge parking lot with ample space. The customer service was good and quick. Food came out in a reasonable time. I prefer the interior of this restaurant to its predecessor just because it's bigger and so much more spacious. However I feel that the ramen at the original location is a little bit better.. we ordered the blaze tonkatsu ramen. It is good but... just not as good as I recall the original broth was... this tasted a little bit more bland... I'll have to come back again and give it another try... I'll probably try the tsukemen the next time. The appetizers were great though..

Sis had the classic ramen, & pork bao which she enjoyed. Shoyu Ramen for my nephew & fried wonton. I had the vegetarian ramen & impossible bao. Both were really good! Hearty serving of the ramen! Also enjoyed the iced matcha green tea. Great service and loved the set up! ???

Just ordered a Blaze Ramen &two pork buns to go & when I opened it noticed they forgot to put a seasoned egg in my Ramen. Wow... I mean il understand if it was busy but it was barely 1140am. Disappointed ?. Overall buns are delicious & mouth flavoring. Ramen is spicy just as I like it but man it was really missing that final touch of egg in my broth. ?

2/1/24, had chicken rice bowl with a macha at around 445PM; I did tell the waitress that the chicken was too "salty" but I ate the meal nonetheless. Left at 550PM. 30 minutes later at home, I became sick and had to throw up. :(

Love their ramen! The service is quick when you order online. The people are so nice when you enter the room and ask for what you need.

silverlake ramen was originally co-opened by one of the owners of hironori, Hiromichi Igarashi. so despite any changes that have been made since they opened, some things are virtually the same. the tonkotsu is basically the same as hironori. came here the other day, ordered a classic and a truffle the classic was good overall, nice flavor in the soup n garlic oil, good egg, meat was a bit overcooked. if you come here and don't want spicy, this is the one to get. but somehow the noodles don't taste as good as hironori also got the truffle garlic ramen, this was not good. instead of 100% pork broth, they do part pork part veggie, meaning there's almost no flavor. i didn't get truffle notes from anything, i could barely taste the garlic. the noodles, while nice and thick, were overcooked to the point where they were almost falling apart. the meat was overcooked and tough other than the fatty parts. the kale was weirdly chopped like it was leftovers tossed on top of the plate. the mushrooms had zero flavor. this is def a miss, and the extra $1.50 i paid over the classic doesn't show anywhere, skip this karaage was fine, good standard, tho losing to better shops like ramen nagi draft beer prices were pretty insane $7 for sapporo or $8 for asahi is on the high side, and sitting on overall, not bad but this shop is way overhyped for what they offer. maybe they were good when they opened up in silverlake and nothing comparable was nearby, but further east, there's tons of great shops at the same or lower prices offering equal or better quality
