I was craving filipino food. I wanted to try a new place. I usually don't eat sisig. I trying my hubby's sisig fries. It was ?! I got the Güd burger. I didn't want to share it with my hubby. ? My kiddos shared corn beef hash with egg. They loved it. The portion is a good size.I told my kids once they are done with eating. I'll buy ube churros. The cook must of read my mind and came out with churros.10 out of 10 highly recommend!I ordered extra churros for my sister in-law and Lola to try.

The food is freshly prepared and not like typical Filipino cantinas where you point at the food, which has been out for awhile. Their bowls have the right amount of rice, meat and veggies. Well balanced meal and not greasy. Highly recommended for a modern feel of traditional Filipino food. We need to make Filipino food match the modern times. So happy too that it's near my home and not all the way in Clairemont or Mira Mesa.Parking: No problem with parking even during a rainy day.

One star because we made the trip down and they are closed even tho it's during their open hour time frame.

My wifey and I wanted to try this place because the food looked really good. We walked in and ended up walking right back out. I understand in this day and age regarding people's preferences in everything but when you run a restaurant business to where customers are frequenting to sit down and eat, the last thing you do as the person running the place is to play distasteful music in that environment. Especially when there are very young kids inside eating.

I had their ube milk bun burger, lumpia, and ube churros. All of which were amazing. The burger had just enough flavor of the ube to not overwhelm the meat. Similar to a Hawaiian bread. I appreciate the balance of the ingredients and the beautiful purple color from the ube. As a Filipino who loves the sweet and savory, I could always do more ube haha. But I think this makes for a better culinary masterpiece with an ode to Filipino culture. The churros are very much a churro had a baby with ube because it was a perfect blend of both. I love the crunchy outside, soft inside, and ube dip. And lastly the lumpia is the classic, cooked crunchy and golden. Lastly the owner was there talking to us which was a pleasure seeing him care about our opinions, interacting with us in general, and seeing how he held tribute to the restaurants history with its name (the previous owners name) which the additive name of his business and also how he showed it through his food showed his knowingness and community orientedness of the local community.

Lumpia was ok, the sauce was a bit spicy for my taste. The gentlemen inside was not particularly friendly. Very rude and said we had to pay first, so we don't eat and leave without paying. Not sure what kind of customers he has been getting, but for a to-go order, you always pay first, since there is no dine in at this location. I will not go back.

Finally tried this spot! I really enjoyed everything. Their smashed burger is a must. It was so good. The flavors were on point and the ube bun was perfect. The lechón Kawali skewers were delicious. They do not skimp on the pork belly chunks. Tangy sauce with the pickled onions. I'd definitely order these again. Their Kare Kare hit the spot. The Kare Kare sauce was very flavorful and I loved everything that came with it. I like that they used a smoke brisket instead of oxtails, but I just wish it was more tender. I had a few pieces that were a little chewy and some that were tender. I'll be coming back tho!
