The Shack Kitchen + Coffee

I smoke a lot of brisket and come here fairly often to get a pretty tasty brisket. However, today wasn’t what I expected. Bought a pound of brisket that was a little pricey but, comparable to most other places. They did a terrible job trimming the brisket. I weighed what was inedible and out of 16 oz. 7 oz was straight fat. Not strands of fat, huge thick lines of fat. More fat than half the meat. Super disappointing. Do better, I know you can. I’ve eaten your brisket many times and this one was the worst. Teach your meat department to trim a brisket correctly.

My first visit here was really good, but the second time was a little disappointing. My burrito wasn’t very warm and the cheese wasn’t melted. For the price, it didn’t quite meet my expectations. I’ll still come back, just probably won’t order the carne asada 🌯

The ribs are the best item on there menu. My son who is a picky eater loves the brisket with fries.

Wasn't aware there'd be a local car show. Kinda made parking difficult. Surprised they had pre-made breakfast burritos but, it was delicious. The young lady at the booth was very sweet.

I had to wait 20 minutes for a coffee, then they told me the espresso machine was was broken. They also went through a long protocol to refund my money. I didn't get a refund receipt. Older gentleman said I should trust them, when I asked for my receipt. Food is decent yet a little overpriced. Service usually lags, but this time it was very lagged.

I want to start by saying that I absolutely love valley farms, I've been coming for many years I would get cooked hot food inside before reopening the shack kitchen. I was very excited to try the Hawaiian island vibes this past Saturday good on social media looked good 👍. Get there see the prices and see it's a bit steep but figured waited this long and said it's alright. Went and ordered 2 plates, spam musubi, coffee and a canned soda 60.33was the total amount though again was a bit steep on price but still got it anyways. Grab the food and head to a park to sit down and enjoy the food to my surprise imwhen I opened up the container insanely small portions in both for what was paid and they also forgot my order of spam musubi. I honestly don't leave reviews unless it's bad bad and for what was spent that day it was kinda of overpriced and so generic in taste flavor and portion not happy with rice the spinach salad was like something half done and the chicken was ok. I can honestly say I wouldn't attend a special weekend event on food after this. Totally bummed me out on that. I did have to go back and get my super lame spam musubi rice was dry and they did give a small container of food to make up for what happened but still 50$ in food minus the drinks was not it could've gone else where for food that day.

We got the pulled pork sandwich and the baja bowl and they were both tasty! The pork sandwich came with fries and extra bbq which was nice.

My food part of the review is strictly for the fries.

Asked for tip before service, red flag but ignored anyway. I tip on the second time or right after if I have cash on me, glad I didn't because it was just not a good experience.

Bit of a wait but wasn't long, my fries were grease filled and burnt, the ones that weren't were good and could tell they'd be great if they weren't ruined. 8$ is also much for something that is a little over the portion of the industry large size which averages for 3.79-4.19.

Lastly, the benches outside were covered in ants. Like it's nature I get it but I couldn't even enjoy my food I just sat on where the carts go. Overall miserable experience.

The cashier was nice and did his job well. Good attitude and service.

The brisket sandwich was exactly👌 what I was looking for at the moment, and they nailed it! Had me wanting more after I was done eating it🤤 However, the mac'n cheese could use TLC. I'm not sure if it was just that day or what, but it'll definitely not be my first choice 1/10 for the mac'n cheese
