I made an online order and for whatever reason, they never got my order and I never got food. Now just waiting for a refund. Hope they fix their website.
Spicy tuna crispy rice is flavorless, eel sauce tastes burnt, and no wasabi given. Very disappointed
If I could give this “restaurant” no stars I would. After giving them several chances to give us a better experience they failed horribly every time. If you place a mobile order and it says pick up at 5:30, don’t bother showing up until 6:30 and it probably still won’t be ready. Not to mention on this last visit, we placed a mobile order and when we arrived at 5:30 pm there was a closed sign on the door but workers inside. Me and a couple other people were waiting outside knocking on the door, the workers proceeded to look at us and ignore us. We had all already placed and paid for our orders, all we needed to do was pick up. We all continued knocking for about 30 minutes, when finally a young girl came to the door saying “our chef just showed up, you will need to wait another 30 minutes or so” ( totally unapologetic). She proceeded to lock us out again and we were all deciding whether or not to wait. Had she told us this 30 min ago we could’ve been home with new food by now. This place needs much better management. It’s a total disaster every time and we will never be returning to this “restaurant” again.
This visit was close to 9p in the evening. There was one customer dining in and I was picking an order that took close to 40mins to complete. It was 4 items. Both wait staff and cooker on multiple occasions were more interested in the Lakers game than being on point with skills running the restuarant
As if today still does all you can eat when alot of other places phased it out. The quality was more than fine and the atmosphere is very quite overall a good experience and will come back.
All you can eat is still offered here, so that's a plus considering it is being phased out at many other sushi restaurants in town. The sushi itself however was a bit of a disappointment. The sushi rice in all of the rolls and nigiri was hard, like it was a day old. The fish quality was good, but the old rice really ruined everything else. Maybe it was because it was a Monday night or maybe they use older rice for all you can eat, I don't know. The place was clean and the service was great though, so if old rice doesn't bother you and you're looking for AYCE it's a good place to go.
We bought the Groupon deal (2 regular rolls for $8), which was advertised as 50% off. However, when we arrived their was a price list that said "2 regular rolls $6." The server said that was for another deal they have no control over. I felt confused and dissatisfied over the price issue. The sushi itself was ok. Small pieces of fish inside of large rice rolls. They took cash only, which seemed very different than most places of business.
Good sushi. We get takeout. Ready in less that 30 monutes.Fresh and tasty.
Very delicious and a good amount of food for the price!! Always tastes very fresh
Two spicy tuna rolls.Very good spice, more than typical and very good flavor.Would be five stars but I'm pretty sure it was medium grain rice and not short grain sushi rice.
Restaurantji Recommends
Our order was take out so I can't really comment on in restaurant service. However, I can comment on the rice and fish, both of which were sub-par. The rice was dry and lacked the quality expected for sushi rice. The fish (tuna) was just okay. There is no way that I would now try the in-restaurant experience. Just from picking up the order, the place seemed dark and there were only two people at the tables (on a weekend).
If you are a dasher or any type of food delivery person, DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE EVER. I am not joking, after a few pick ups I learned that they are slow. Fine, i started to plan my trips around this so that i arrived at the restaurant a little later. Still, food was never ready. It’s not only the fact that they are slow, but when your food is actually ready, the staff is too incompetent to actually give you the food. They will just let it sit on the shelf even if you have explicitly told them the name of the order that you are waiting for. So, whenever you see a bag that is ready, you basically have to ask if that bag is yours. This is only possible if you can stand inside and see the bags be prepared. But it gets better because they will kick you out most of the time and make you wait outside. So there is no way to get the food in a timely manner at this place. No matter how good the order is, just decline. It’s not worth it.
Love getting Sushi from New Kyoto because they always have the Groupon available making it reasonable to keep coming back. Please Improve the Image of your Menu online - it’s so tiny we can’t read it using our phones, have to use IPads or laptops.Overall we enjoy it very much every time. Keep up the good work !!
I don’t know exactly what’s changed since the ‘New’ was added in front of Kyoto Sushi, but I’m happy it did. It was never our first choice, but since the update my family wants nothing else! The quantity, quality, and overall service has improved dramatically over the last year and our stomachs couldn’t be happier!

We have already passedOn our experience to our friends and asked them toGet some rake out meals so we can gushed ourCombined experience THANK YOU
