Lassen's Steaks and El Tepeyac Grille

I stayed at the adjacent Wyndham hotel for one night as I was passing through town the day before Thanksgiving and needed to get dinner so I stopped in to order food to take back to my room. I figured the carne asada plate would work since they serve Mexican food and steaks and when I opened the Styrofoam box in my room I instantly regretted it. Everything was canned and reheated except for the steak which was pan fried and a rubbery texture that was impossible to eat. Three small flour tortillas were included but I probably had 2-3 bites total and tossed the rest in the trash. I hate leaving bad reviews, especially in a small town but hardly any effort went into this dinner. The last thing I want to say is the gal who was hostess didnt even ask if I wanted anything to drink while I waited.

It's easy to assume that this restaurant only has steaks and Mexican food. I was looking for fish and found it here. I order the Grilled Salmon (under the "steaks" part of the menu) and enjoyed it very much. The salmon tasted fresh and it came with a baked potato, green beans, and a green salad. The white wine was Sutter Home chardonnay and, unexpectedly, that was good too!

We had another amazing meal at El Tepeyac / Lassen Steaks! The food was absolutely delicious, the drinks were great, and the service was top-notch as always. Liz was our waitress and she’s always so friendly and attentive every time we come in. My husband had the Steak Ranchero, and I went with the Chipotle Shrimp on Liz’s recommendation, both were so tasty! And don’t skip the homemade corn tortillas they’re a must!

We went in like 20 minutes before closing and they were happy to serve us. They were nice and courteous, and didn't rush us at all.

The food was great. The service was terrible and slow. We were the only ones in the restaurant but still waited a loooong time for our food. Food was not worth the wait. 👎

About average. There to go orders aren't packed very well and end up making a mess spelling over the container sides.

ok lol, the food here is very delicious, the breakfasts are exquisite and very well served, I highly recommend the homelet denver, menudo, chili verde, it is actually difficult to select some because all the breakfasts are very good, sury the chef in the mornings is very smiling and friendly and she is the one who makes the delicious breakfasts,.
I also recommend the el burrito más grande, the chicken tostadas and chiles rellenos ,. 👌🏻✨☘️

Food is good but honestly I feel that if the online menu says one price and says it was updated a couple days ago that is the price we should be charged. Not $3-5 more than is advertised
