I had an amazing experience at The Lake House, a high-end lakeside steakhouse in North Lake Tahoe. The ambiance was perfect for a relaxing evening, and the service was top-notch. I asked the waitress how many ounces the steaks were, and she replied with a smile, "We don't weigh our steaks, we just cut off a generous portion." Understood! Lol.
I ordered the Filet Mignon, cooked medium rare, and subbed the mashed potatoes for Broccolini, with a side of sautéed Brussel sprouts. While waiting, I enjoyed a Knob Creek on the rocks. When my food arrived, I couldn’t believe how big the filet mignon was! I thought, “It’s too big to be medium rare all the way through,” but I was wrong—this was the best steak I’ve had in 40 years. Perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor.
Paired with a nice red wine, it was heaven on a plate.
10/10, I’d come back in a heartbeat!

Worst service ever. The first 2 times we went to this restaurant we really enjoyed it. The third time we came was for our rehearsal dinner & the sever was very rude. We came here a 4th time and the service was horrible! The salmon was under cooked and there was a bone in it. They removed it from the bill after we complained 2 times. When we they brought the receipt, a guy who said his name was Aaron said to never come back. I’m sorry but that was the most insulting thing anyone has ever said. We’ve spent well over $2k there in the past year. Worst customer service ever!

We were here visiting Lake Tahoe and came here for dinner for my birthday. Idk why this place only has a 3 1/2 stars. The food is incredibly delicious. I had a New York Strip and my boyfriend had a Filet Mignon. Both came with delicious garlic mashed potatoes. I definitely recommend this restaurant. 10/10. And next time I’m in Lake Tahoe I will definitely come here to eat. We took the leftovers home and had steak and eggs for breakfast and the steak was still and good and juicy. We did get lucky as walk in’s but we sat at the bar because that was only available. And we are ok with that because we like to sit at the bar for better service. Ohh and before I forget. You MUST try the home made cheesecake. It is sooooo good. We were so full but we still ordered it and it didn’t disappoint.
Food was awesome & huge portions. We ordered the pesto chicken, gnocchi & blue cheese wedge. The pesto chicken was in a fabulous creamy sauce with the chicken done perfectly. The gnocchi sauce was creamy & cheesy -- incredible. The entrées were crazy steamy hot -- excellent. The blue cheese wedge was ice cold with big chunks of blue cheese, exactly what you want with the wedge. The bread was served hot with our water when we were seated. Would recommend this place anytime. Service was very good & quick.

Came here after a long day hiking and kayaking and scored a seat at the bar. Had a perfect x-dirty martini and the grilled salmon. Salmon was cooked perfectly and generous portion. The broccolini and mashed potatoes were a great pairing. Comforting but not too heavy.

Ribs done right! Meat fell off the bone. Just amazing. My mom had the Rib eye. It was delicious. We had a really kind waiter. The restaurant was super cute and gave cabin vibes. It was a little too dark inside tho. Some candles on the table would’ve been nice.

Have usually enjoyed Old Range, but had the worst prime rib I’ve ever had tonight. Ordered medium rare, was told they only had medium plus, and this was more well done than a piece of leather. Only had one bite and waiter didn’t notice that I didn’t eat my dinner. Very disappointing, would not recommend to friends who visit kings beach in the future.
