It was nice to be able to get fancy adult meals while the kids ate pizza. The beer selection was small, but they missed a delivery apparently. Polite staff. The server had to double check our order 5 minutes after ordering which was surprising.

Incredibly rude host. Refuses to take a to-go order at 6pm on a Thursday with no explanation. Woman in front of me walked away with 4 to-go boxes. Food may be great but don’t care. Will never go back

Friends recommended Dog and Bear, they had been here in late summer. What a wonderful restaurant. The food was excellent! Best meal out I have had all year. Make this a stop when you are in the area. Being that it is October, it may have been easier to get a table. We are from Houston with many excellent restaurants. Staff was great too.

O.K., Coming to West Shore for last 20+ years. GF has been coming to West Shore since family cabin built in McKinney Creek in 1960. This place started off a little rocky a few years back but had definitely improved like a fine wine. I am a Carb boy and LOVE any variation of their Pizza's. GF non-Carb girl but still devours their pizza. Only suggestion (which is partially our fault) is to order extra Dates on their Date Pizza. Also, the Pickle salad could use some work (however, they refunded for that). Best deal on the West Shore and Tahoe City when it comes to price and quality. We usually go to Reno for dinner because of their quality choices, but the Bear and Dog holds up against the best that Reno has to offer. Service is 5 Star!!! FYI, I am a dog lover...Especially partial to Labs.

Great food, great service, nice location. We had the Flyin’ Hawaiian pizza and the Pig & Peach pizza. Excellent! If you’re in Tahoma, it’s definitely worth a stop.

This place was PACKED when I went around 6 pm. The wait-list never seemed to change positions and the staff didn't call out names although locals seemed to always get a seat just by talking to people. I eventually asked about how long of a wait for 1 person and they said to try my luck waiting for an open seat at the bar. That worked, but then why even have a wait-list? The food was excellent but the service was terrible. Granted, they were slammed (most likely due to the triathlon). Still, most of the staff essentially ignored you unless you forced an interaction and even then it took ages for things to happen.
In short, if this place looks busy when you go, then be prepared for a wait and don't be afraid to speak up for service. The squeaky wheel is the only one to get attention here.

This is our favorite spot on the West Shore...
It is almost always busy, but even so, they try to accommodate everyone that walks in the door... The servers are very nice and the food is delicious.

Went to the restaurant to order food, they said they can only serve people who are dining in. Unable to work under pressure. Cannot take orders to take home. Bring more McDonald’s or Taco Bell. They don’t cry when they are under pressure.

We went in excited to try the food for the first time as the photos looked great. The food smelled great. However, when asked if we could get a few items to go they stated that they would have to ask. The front host asked the chef and we could audibly hear her say she didn’t feel like doing it. We also heard another coworker encouraging the chef to say no as well very loudly and shaking his head. We immediately left as this felt highly disrespectful and rude and like we would have been a bother to them had we stayed to eat anyways. I will not ever be coming back will tell my work who comes to the area once a month to stay away as well. We ended up getting burgers and gelato from next door and the food was still amazing and the service was so so so much better!
