This place is a cool hole-in-the-wall kind of place. Great beer! Yummy food next door @ Kit Fox Cafe.

As someone who spends a lot of time in Death Valley and enjoys craft beer, I really wanted to like this place. I'd heard lots of good things about DVB, and I like the quirky layout and location of Tecopa. However, I cannot rate the brewery well. We arrived last weekend to try their beers. I ordered a Winnow Rye (rye pale ale), and it was probably one of the worst beers I've ever had. It tasted like a bad sour, without any flavor suggesting it was a rye or even a pale ale. I drank less than half and had to stop. My conclusion is that the tap lines haven't been cleaned and there was an infection in them that led to the sour flavor. Pretty bad. Additionally, the interior of the bar smelled like vomit, such that we had to retreat to the other room with the pool area to breathe. We had planned to come back to get a growler, but that was off the table after the bad experience. Stovepipe Wells has some decent beers, so if you're in the mood, I'd recommend the Badwater Saloon at Stovepipe instead.

First night in Tecopa, visited the local brewery. What a nice surprise! Had the Imperial Sunrise (Imperial Dry Hopped Red), and the Venusian Blonde (Mountain Rambler Blonde) taste rivals the big boys, very good. BTW, Sunrise produced by Dan and Mike at DV, while the Blonde is a guest beer produced by the other local brewery. THANKS DAN!

Great beer. Dan the brewer is awesome. Just make sure to try the beers in black (they are Dans creations) and don't be an idiot and bring your own beer in trying to save money.

Basic food. Terrible brew. Pass.

Drink my own beer I already paid for is “saving money” I guess. 🤦🏻‍♂️
After paying $30 for food. lol
Oh no, I sat outside drinking a beer while I waited for my food. How diabolical of me.

If you ever find yourself exploring the rugged beauty of Tecopa, make sure to stop by Death Valley Brewing—a true oasis for craft beer lovers in the desert. Tucked away in this remote town, the brewery offers a laid-back, friendly atmosphere that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something special.
The variety and quality of beers here are impressive, especially considering the small-town setting. Whether you're into hoppy IPAs, smooth lagers, or something more unique, there’s something for everyone. The hard root beer is a must-try—it’s refreshingly sweet with just the right kick. Their seasonal and experimental brews also keep things interesting, giving visitors a reason to return.
The setting has a rustic, Old West charm with quirky décor that adds to the experience. The indoor seating area is cozy and inviting. If the weather is nice, the outdoor seating lets you soak in the desert landscape while sipping a cold beer.
They also serve delicious food, with their pizzas being a standout—generous portions, crispy crust, and great flavors that pair perfectly with a cold pint. The service is top-notch, with friendly staff who are passionate about their craft and happy to share recommendations.

As a full-time overlander, I enjoy visiting small towns and engaging with the locals. I camped on public land nearby after leaving the park. I found Dan and the rest of the locals and most out-of-towners very friendly and approachable. I left with good memories and a growler of great amber! I look forward to my next visit with great anticipation.

God is great beer 🍺 is good people are crazy. A liquid haven in the middle of the desert. Excellent beer loved the red. Dan knows his stuff. Excellent brewer. Tried some flights , met several people from all over traveling in from the National Parks in the area. Love the live music and the patio seating. Definitely will be back.

Dan the brewery has many great beers. This is wonderful find in the middle of the desert. Just 5 min away from hot spring soaking pools . Add beer, steak and hot springs you have pure bliss. The red beer is our personal favorite. Play some pool and darts . Open yourself up to patio conversation. Definitely will be back love this place.
