We were with a large group and most everyone liked all of the steaks and all of the appetizers especially the seared tuna. The one exception was the "Asian" sea bass. I asked our waitress if it was anything like Chilean Sea Bass and she said it was about the same but from Asia instead of So. America. Not so; very fishy and dry, inedible. Not even as good as a midwestern lake bass and absolutely nothing like Chilean Sea Bass. Wine selections were tasty and the desserts were well liked.
Found this hidden gem in small place Tehachapi on our roadtrip through California and it was really great, felt welcomed at once with charming furniture and very service minded waiter and staff. Ordered rib eye and filet mignon with fries, really juicy taste in the steaks and super crispy good fries. Highly reccomendable. Also the local 805 beer was really good.
Not bad food or service, but since they had just cleaned their floors they couldn't serve beer on tap and have a very limited bottle inventory, heard the waitress telling other customers that they were out of all hamburger's and while the food was good it's nothing to write home about.
The waitress was amazing! From the moment we walked in, the service was top notch! Great delicious food! Steak? OH MY! Mouth watering delicious! My husband and I will be back! Thank you!

While the ribeye is definitely a top tier item, sadly my 2 tries at ordering prime rib did not work out too well.. we also noted that the pita chips served with the spinach artichoke dip had a fishy after taste... I'd still recommend trying the menu and the staff is awesome!

It was difficult to order day after Christmas. Out of more than one thing but service was impeccable. The food we did have, ribs, crab salad, was delicious.

Waited 20 minutes and never even got so much as an acknowledgement that we were there.

The food here is great! We split a ribeye steak and it was really good with grilled onions on top. Also had a side salad and the Cusabi dressing is excellent. We stop here a couple times a year and would highly recommend it.
Very nice classic steakhouse- great atmosphere and bar. Cocktails were great. Prefer the main dining room. Have visited several times over the years and enjoyed their Thanksgiving meal this year. Food was very good. A couple of improvements would have made it 5 stars. Was dissatisfied to have the Thanksgiving meal served on plastic chinet. Also we had the last seating at 4pm and still felt like they rushed the meal courses out a bit. I’m sure the employees wanted to get home for the holiday. I do appreciate that they accommodated us in a booth instead of the other room. All in all I do highly recommend and thought the price was reasonable for a generous serving on Thanksgiving.

The only 'steakhouse" we could find in Tehachapi. Our server,Sarah, was very friendly. The rib eye was prepared as ordered. However, it was the atmosphere and Sarah that stood out. A true vintage steakhouse. This is a place the Rat Pack would have eaten at. A nice bar too.

We ordered 3 prime rib dinners which were fantastic and cooked to temperature, also ordered a shrimp scampi that was delicious but somewhat lackluster, only a few shrimp although they were jumbo sized. Our only critique is a lack of veggie options: there is only a veggie medley, with options for various styles of potatoes or a rice pilaf. Would be great to offer a couple other options, such as broccoli, asparagus or brussel sprouts. It can be a lil pricey, but for those type of meals, it's worth it. The service was amazing, very attentive and helpful, and the atmosphere was wonderful. If you're looking for a high-end style steakhouse then I would def recommend Jake's!

The Harris Ranch choice steaks and prime rib were cooked to order and packed that deep, satisfying umami punch that only good beef can deliver. The salad was cold and crisp, the baked potato rich and earthy. The pleasantly boozy and well-balanced Manhattan proved the perfect accompaniment for a classic steak-house meal. The atmosphere was comfortable and relaxed and even though the tables were full, the noise level was never grating. The service was friendly and efficient. Jakes is a real culinary gem and definitely a wonderful place for a special meal out with friends and family.

Great find in Tehachapi, CA. We were enroute to Bakersfield but found Jakes. So glad we did. It was Halloween night and the staff was "dressed for the occasion". Had great soup and cocktails. Enjoyed the service all around! Very hospitable. Had the prime rib; could have been a bit more tender. A great stop if you don't want to travel to Bakersfield!
Much improved over the last year. Had the ribeye, and it was outstanding. And the veggies were top notch as well.
