Customer service or terrible, the lady in the front hates her life I have no idea what’s her problem. The vibe is not it some of the workers gave me a bad feeling, overall just rude workers, Definitely work on your attitude or get new workers… If your looking for an actual good restaurant head to river view
Great food. Friendly staff.
We just came for food after coming out of Sequoia. Our server, Jesse, was charismatic and fun. The rest of the staff were all ready to jump in and refill anything we needed. The food definitely left something to be desired, especiallyfor the price. The ravioli had an odd taste and the marina was watery and flavorless. It was in a beautiful spot though.
Great location, but that’s where the positives end.
The Gateway Restaurant and Lodge has a beautiful location right at the entrance to Sequoia National Park. You can’t beat the convenience. Unfortunately, the rest of our experience didn’t live up to the setting. Check-in was chaotic since the same register handled hotel guests, restaurant payments, and even snow-chain rentals and sales , with just one person trying to manage it all.
Our room had several issues: dusty shelves, a soaked carpet under the air conditioner, and a toilet that wasn’t installed securely and wobbled. When we asked about switching rooms, we were told the lodge was fully booked. With few nearby options and the late hour, we stayed the night but we wouldn’t stay here again and can’t recommend it.
They told the sheriff they would call me because I asked why the waitress ANA was angry with us and all because I sat my family at a table on my own, she even told me that I didn't know how to read and I did because no one served me in front of the door, my recommendation is better not to go to a place like that or you might face legal problems because of people who are incompetent to do their job. In the end, they gave me a 10% discount for all the inconvenience at the restaurant when they didn't appreciate that I even stayed at the hotel with them and in my case, I will never return to that place.
My glands are very demanding. The place is beautiful, the view incredible, but I don't recommend the food.
Over price for the quality of food we pay for 2 pasta Alfredo 75 dollars the pasta is dry no salsa Alfredo not recommended 🏃♀️
Everything is beautiful
Location is great, if you manage to book a table by the river as we did the experience is quite nice :) food is good and the staff was incredible.
Starting from the lady at the entrance to the gentleman who served our table everything was perfect. They both had a warm smile despite the day was incredibly busy, they were kind and welcoming. I work in the hospitality industry with Marriott (my wife as well) and we can tell the difference when we see professionals at work!
Give them a raise!
Thank you from Rome :)
Food was good. Service was acceptable. Don't get the espresso drinks. Out of machine. Mine was I drinkable.

We stayed at a Vrbo five minutes away and the owner recommended this restaurant to us. So glad he did.
We had driven from San Diego and were starving by the time we arrived. Our server Taylor was absolutely awesome! The food was perfect-appetizer, meal and dessert, and the view was even better.
After our day in the park the next day we were able to sneak back at the last hour of service to grab a burger. Once again, we had Taylor as our server and everything was great. Would definitely come back if we find ourselves in the area again.
The energy from the 2 staff members I dealt with was very negative, entitled, and condescending. I can handle that if the place was semi decent, but that’s not the case here. I did not eat here (thankfully), but everything is really dirty and smells awful. I can imagine what the kitchen looks like. Our $500 lodge smelled and had very old carpet that looks like it’s never been cleaned. It’s obvious they take no pride in their establishment. Despite them my wife and I had a good evening by the river. Peace…
Paid WAY too much for this very run down, outdated lodge. Everything was shabby and dirty. The only good thing was the two room cabin we stayed in had a nice patio looking out over the river. Other than that I would not recommend this place.
Stayed here after a day in sequoia national park, it’s really convenient just outside the park. Also had dinner at the restaurant. The snake river steak burger was spectacular.
Over all the food was okay. Red snapper was weird, the veggitable melody was good and the twice baked potatos were okay.
