The absolutely stunning view of San Francisco Bay through the full-size window wall is without a doubt the main attraction. But the atmosphere is special too. While the restaurant permits guests to wear casual dress, the waiters are impeccably dressed in tuxedos, offering professional, old-world style service that is rarely found in the U.S. today. And the food is terrific, too - well prepared, beautifully plated, and delicious. Initially we had an issue with the availability of valet parking (we were on the early side of the dinner hour), but they worked it out. While it's not inexpensive, this dining experience is well worth it in my opinion.

We recently celebrated my wife’s birthday at this amazing spot, and it was a fantastic experience. The food was delicious, the service was impeccable, and the view was breathtaking. The calm atmosphere, enhanced by the soothing sounds of a saxophone, made the evening even more special.
We tried abalone for the first time and found it to be quite good. Although we can’t compare it to other experiences, we would definitely recommend it. The lobster and mussels were also outstanding. Overall, it was a memorable evening, and we highly recommend this restaurant for any special occasion.

Went for dinner when they open at 5:30 pm so service was quick and good.
Carpaccio Appetizer was excellent and pot stickers good.
Ordered 8 oz filet mignon $50 which came with small scoop of potatoes. My steak (ordered medium) was burnt!! Totally disappointed!!
I would’ve sent it back but didn’t, and should’ve ordered the Abalone for $70 since I had that last time and it was good.
Cheesecake could’ve been better, coffee good.
Expensive, Tab for 2 $300!
Best two things were the water views and a terrific martini!
Vegetarian options: Soup and salad available
Parking: Valet parking is a plus
Kid-friendliness: Not a place for children really. Tables are close together

Food is way overpriced, quality of the food wishing to be better. Every dish we ordered was very salty.

Completely overpriced. Even regular menu items which are no less that $40-60 each, the quantity is so less that it seems you are having an appetiser until or unless you don’t order the $100/- plates. Our food was served in bowl dishes and even the portion of salad was so less that I wondered for what am I paying more than $30 for! I wonder if you will be full in case you are hungry.
Dessert is well priced but either it was less baked and hard or not well prepared.
The servers were in a rush to pick up the plates without even asking if you are gone or not. Everytime we had to sign the server to come as there was no one to attend to our table.
Eventhough I had reserved our table and requested a window seat they didn’t honor that.
Vegetarian options: Except pasta in lot of butter I doubt if there is any other option.

I recommend eating before and making a back up reservation at another place in town.
We were still waiting 45 minutes after our reservation. And then a party of 10 walked in and was seated immediately. Needless to say, we left.

Great service, amazing views of SF, Golden Gate Bridge and angel island, and most importantly great food with good service and reasonable price. My friend got a huge ribeye steak which tasted great. I had sea bass also tasted great. The vegetables were overdone and some burnet to be honest, that’s why it gets a four ⭐️
Parking: Complementary valet was onsite because there wasn’t any parking available within 0.5 miles of the restaurant

The food was mediocre. The sea bass was overcooked as well as the vegetables. I was surprised with the inability to prepare a steak especiallywith the wrote up anout it on the menu..med well was completely done..a 2nd attempt was medium rare. The view is beautiful..perhaps drinks and appetizers with a walk after would be best. The prices are reasonable for the bay area.

Such a lovely, relaxed date experience. The steak and dessert were fabulous, as was the service. The view was just so dreamy.

I'll be going to the Caprice for nearly 40 years. And one of my favorite special occasion spots. Maybe it was an off night. All restaurants have them. Seems like everything from drinks, the bus boy, service and food. We're all not up to par. Maybe understaffed? The abalone for us was a little overcoated and disguised the natural flavor. Sea bass and vegetables overcooked. Spicy Margarita worst ever. Location and views can't be beat. Gerard Chardonnay was fantastic.
