Looks like these guys are going to be moving. If you want the best barbecue in the Central valley, this is it. The service is fantastic, and you cannot beat the peach cobbler or the banana pudding. Grab a three-piece along with spaghetti and beans and a couple of ice cold grape sodas and you are good to go. This place kicks butt and I can't wait for them to get relocated. Whenever that is. I will be following them.

Very disappointed in the food and portions. I got the brisket plate which did have a good portion but it was extremely dry and hard to eat. The side portions were comically small and lacked flavor. I have to say the staff was very nice but the prices do not match what's online or the pictures.

The food is delicious, it’s definitely the best barbecue I’ve had in Tracy. The Mac and cheese and peach cobbler are also so yummy. My family loved everything.

Asked for a pitcher of water. Cashier was going to charge me $7. Need to train your staff it is illegal to charge for water. I did order other item so did not just go in for water.

Ordered take out catering for a small but discerning party of self-proclaimed bbq aficionados. Ordered bbq ribs and chicken. Also ordered peach cobbler. Everything was prepared on time with written instructions on warming for the next day affair. The ordered items were the highlight of the dinner and the ribs, especially, garnered the most accolade for its “smoked” flavor and bbq sauce. Highly recommended Shorter’s for your catering needs.

Best ribs in Tracy period. If you are up to treating yourself with great ribs, this is the hole in the wall. Service and atmosphere is a bit short of my expectations but the quality of food topples it off. Just no substitute available in Tracy for the quality of the ribs.

Food was not good. I was craving some good bbq food and was very disappointed. Barely got any meat; i was given a huge thing of bread with a bunch of barbecue sauce all over. Atmosphere was cool with a little bit of hospitality.

Ordered $30 worth of food and the best thing was the greens. Garlic fries were served cold, brisket sandwich would have been tasty but it was 3 slices of mostly slimmy fat, the sauce hard a lot of brown sugar, the tri tip could use some seasonings overall I’m glad I tried it so I know never to go back. The young lady who answered the phone was very impatient. Would not recommend

Best BBQ sauce I've had in a long, long time. Great service, good to see someone take pride in a family restaurant.
Edit: It's been nearly 10 years and still love coming here, still the best BBQ west of the Mississippi.

Good food, they cover it is sauce which I didn't care for. Greens were great, red beans and rice lacked some flavor. Shorters mom was there and she's a kick in the pants! Lol she made the experience! Also it's attached to the old school bowling alley so that was cool too
