I used to go here when I was in LA for a few months back in 2011. I'd pick up Tom Kha soup most days. The staff were friendly and the food was nice. =) It just came across my mind, even after all this time!
Best Hole in the wall. The food is the best in town. But the yellow curry is the best this side of the Mississip. Thus place has been her for 40 plus years and I think it will out last a nuclear holocaust. Its that good.
OMG this place is fire. Don't judge the restaurant by the exterior. It truly is a hole-in-the-wall, hidden gem. I was losing hope in LA restaurants (we're visiting from NorCal) but this was honestly the best Thai food I've ever had! We tried the Panang Curry with Tofu and the Drunken Noodles with Tofu. EXCELLENT VEGETARIAN OPTIONS!! Everything tasted homemade, authentic, and most of all, FRESH! I can't wait to return and try other dishes :)

I've been coming to Pan Tang for close to 30 years. The food is consistently fabulous, with the Thai iced tea, chicken satay (with amazing peanut sauce) and the shrimp pineapple fried rice being my favorites. The family that has owned this place is so kind and wonderful. Best Thai good in town. Even used it for my wedding rehearsal.

Pan Tang is a fantastic Thai restaurant that truly captures the essence of authentic Thai cuisine. The menu offers a great variety of dishes, from spicy curries to flavorful stir-fries, all made with fresh ingredients and balanced spices. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, perfect for both casual dining and special occasions. The staff are friendly and attentive. They even gave us some complimentary fried noodles with some dipping sauce, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. If you love Thai food or are looking to try it for the first time, Pan Tang is definitely worth a visit.

This isn't just food; it's a goddamn revelation, hiding in plain sight. The flavors, the textures – it’s like someone’s Thai grandma decided to go pro, but kept all the love. You get that hit of home-style, family-recipe honesty, but then BAM, the execution is sharp, professional. These people know what they're doing. The Pad Thai? It’s a tightrope walk of crunch and zing – peanuts doing their job, fresh lime cutting through like a
razor. Good. Solid. But the Drunken Noodles. Jesus. That was the headliner. The kind of dish that makes you want to order another before you've even finished the first. Perfect heat, that beautiful garlic and basil perfume hitting you right in the face. This was takeout, mind you. I can only imagine the sheer, unadulterated pleasure of this stuff hot out of the wok, right there in the restaurant. Probably singes your eyebrows off in the best possible way. And because I’m a glutton for punishment – or maybe just a sucker for a good ending – I tacked on their seasonal mango sticky rice. Sweet, creamy, that perfect tropical hit. It’s the kind of dessert that makes you forget, just for a minute, all the miserable, over-hyped crap you’ve eaten in your life. So yeah, Pan Tang. Who knew? I’ll be back. That curry’s got my name on it. And if you’re in Tujunga, and you don’t try this place? Well, that’s your own damn fault.

Amazing Thai food.

The food is amazing! Looks like most of their business is takeout since we were the only people in the dining room, but it's a chill spot. The chef even came out to confirm a dietary restriction and made a vegan version of the pickled pepper sauce. Very thoughtful!

Don't sleep on this place. Got the pad Thai, asked for it 10/10 spicy, and they actually did it!!!
So happy with the food. I don't even live in this area, it was a total impulse choice, and I feel like I nailed it.
