Everything here is absolutely amazing and well worth the wait. I personally love the takowasa and the peanut tofu. All the fresh fish is delicious and the ambience can't be beat. I'm going to keep bringing friends and family to this lovely gem of a restaurant 💕

Really cute, kitchy, japanese izakaya. Staff are really friendly and attentive. I'm not sure what they're known for, but most things I tried were a hit, one was a miss.
I tried the Okinawan margarita, stewed pigs feet, wings, and wasabi musubi. The margarita was fun and yumm. They give you japanese citrus juice to pour into alcohol and shake it yourself. Pigs feet at an izakaya is quite unique so I had to try it. Perfectly tender and fall off the bone, tasty broth/sauce, spicy mustard on the side. Wings could be crispier, but they were salty, lil sweet, yumm. I didn't care for the musubi, maybe they were running out of seaweed? But it was falling apart and quite forgettable. I'd come back for drinks and more snacks with friends for sure.

I love their decos and authentic Japanese restaurant. Also my sukiyaki bowl was kinda blend but it was great.

I got the habuya soba with corn tempura and peanut tofu. I admit the waiters seemed pretty rushed and harried, likely because of the high wait time and the tight space in the restaurant. I liked the peanut tofu the best - i personally found my soba and corn tempura too salty to my taste.

I've loved this place for years, though I've only been here a few times. Every visit is a good memory. The food here is simply amazing and there's quite a bit on the menu I'm not sure you can get any place else, at least not any place nearby.
Tonight's dinner with family: jimami, saba shioyaki my beloved, nasu miso (with pork), chicken katsu curry, sukiyaki don, and fried purple yam (think ube fries). Mango mochi ice cream and matcha tiramisu for dessert. The staff are very kind. Everyone left very happy.

Amazing restaurant with great food and amazing decor that made you feel like you were in Okinawa. My family is from Okinawa, and I had to make the trip out to see Habuya! The staff were extremely friendly! Make sure to get a glass of Orion while you are there!

We love this place and wish we have something like this in the South Bay area in Los Angeles.

Extremely rare gem, both the food and atmosphere are capable of transporting you to Okinawa, even if you’ve never been. Dining room is small and sometimes long waits, but it’s always worth it.

We were looking for a good Ramen place in South Orange County having been disappointed by a fancy one in Irvine. We just went with reviews and decided on Habuya Okinawan. Wow! Were we so happy to have chanced on this little gem. The atmosphere in this little hole in the wall restaurant was full on Japanese like you would find in Japan, the service was casual but really nice. And of course the reason we went dining was for good food. They had an amazing array of dishes and every single one was just so good. We liked it so much, we went back again. It is now my favorite place, not just for ramen but pretty much anything Japanese.
