The best Japanese restaurant in Irvine. Normally we will visit this one twice a week.

I am sad to say after waiting to go here on a special time with my children, we were disappointed big time. The waiter was nice but after ordering only 4 things, we were confused as for high end crab roll, salmon, they seved it with hot rice and sushi in the middle. Who likes a hot sushi burrito. I have eaten sushi for 30 years and this was disgusting. We then got shrimp and vegetable tempura, it was burned and dry. We then left after a few choices and went home very sad as aI apologized to my child as this Saturday night was his turn to go out with dad. Very pricey, bad hand rolls hot with sushi, and dry, burnt tempura that tastes like 1 week old oil. I guarantee as a sushi consumer, this place will be closed in under a year.

Amazing quality fish with freshness you can taste and feel in every bite. One of the best sushi in Irvine that you can find.
The tuna hand roll was so delicious.
I am a big fan of unagi and the quality is that which you would find in Japan, very tender and delicious.
The atmosphere is very dark modern soothing which feels very classy, absolutely a great date night idea.
Staff were very attentive and service was fast. Highly recommend this restaurant for sushi lovers.
Wasabi is very fresh as well.

The tuna roll was disappointing—the seaweed was soggy, poorly rolled, and kept falling apart. The sushi rice was too hard and cut too small. The first few pieces of sushi were overwhelmingly sour, as if the chef was trying too hard with the flavors.
Service: ⭐⭐☆☆☆
Staff attitude was fine, but both servers seemed inexperienced. They forgot the wasabi at first, then brought it but forgot the soy sauce.

Chic and stylish interior, though it could use more tables.
Overall, for a $60 lunch including service, I’d choose to go elsewhere.

Have been coming here almost monthly since opening. Everything is excellent, except the hand roll line should serve hand rolls slower - wait until the customer has finished their hand roll before MAKING the next one to ensure crispy texture of the seaweed.

The absolute best hand roll bar. The original Ootoro on Michelson is the best, but can have long wait times. The hand roll bar also has same quality sushi and sashimi, without the wait.
