As of my personal visit on Friday 6/17/2022, the Tustin location will be their last day of operations. I will miss this location and this staff, who have provided me, my husband, and our various coworkers coffee for the past 4+ years on our way to work. Always friendly, always prompt with my drink orders and have recommendations at the ready whenever I'm in the mood for "something different". The croissants they have from Mr. Holmes bakery before COVID were always my favorite. When businesses came back in 2021 and the croissants were missing, I know things will never be the same. They're still up and running at their Long Beach and Costa Mesa locations, so don't fret! It's the opposite direction of my work, but maybe I'll visit them on weekends. Thank you Portola @The District for the years of serving this community! You will be missed.

My friends and I have a coffee run every time we are in office, today I decided to try some place new, that happened to be Portola! I am so happy we decided to go here, we had such a great time. We were able to ask the barista questions about drinks and their recommendations and it was a blast! The coffee was also super yummy as well! To our surprise we were there at 3:30 pm (pst) which means we were there for their happy hour. This was great because the pastry's were $2 (not the doughnuts). They were also super yummy and we will definitely be coming back! Thank you Portola

This spot is a remarkable coffee shop. The baristas are always super nice and friendly here. Their lattes and cold brew are one of my favorites. The price is definitely on the higher end as far as some coffee's go, but it's worth it simply because the quality of their coffee is amazing. There is WiFi here, and some bar seating but there are plenty of other seating areas at the union market to get work done. The rose and cardamom latte is my favorite to get. Rose is very balanced and cardamom adds a spice to the drink. They also sell their own beans which has a "roasted on" date for those who like to make their own coffee at home. Definitely check this place out if you are in the area.

Best espresso I had in all OC

Great spot to study! I tried the vanilla latte one time (too sweet) and then a matcha latte the next time (perfect especially with an extra scoop of matcha). It's located in the district so it can get busy but there's also a lot of parking. This is a good study spot if you don't mind a noisier environment. They have taller chairs so you could switch from standing to sitting which is nice for those long study sessions!

What's not to love it's coffee! Employees are always nice and friendly. I usually get the flat white or latte with whole milk. I absolutely love that they do latte heart and helps us start the day on the right foot. It's located inside the building with a bunch of other stores like woofpak and Roba noodles. Love love love

Ordered for delivery an hour and a half ago and still no updates on delivery time. The eta was for 30-45 minutes after my order was placed. Tried calling and there was no answer and voicemail is full so cannot leave message. Not happy

This lavender latte was just what I needed this morning. So so good!

Worst coffee place. Came on three different occasions and ever time they said they are closing early. Their hours never match what is online. Waste of time to drive here and staff is not friendly at all.

I'm quite glad that this location is still in business. I have been coming since it has opened, but it has been nearly two years since I've been able to come by. Portola Coffee Roasters is located right at the Union Market entrance near the District street. An easily accessible place to get your coffee, given that you park right across the street (on the Whole Foods side) I really enjoy the overall ambiance, despite being in a potentially heavy traffic walkway. Coming by today, I ordered the Kyoto Cold Brew (~$6) which was perfectly made and had a strong coffee flavor. Excellent. Hope to visit again soon!

I travel a lot and sometimes it's hard to get a good latte. This definitely qualifies as good. Way better than settling for the big coffee chain from Seattle.

I have been to the Portola in Costa Mesa and loved my lavender latte. However, I was very disappointed by the seasonal promotional drink I got here in Tustin. First of all, it was $22 or $23 with tax. You get the drink and get to keep the mug. The mug was super cute, but the rest of it, not so cute. If I'm spending $23, I expect it to look appealing and as advertised. It seems like the staff made no effort, despite the hefty price tag their patrons are paying. It is called the Cotton Candy Peppermint Mocha, so you'd expect a peppermint mocha, but mine tasted like a normal latte. The espresso, like always, tasted great. However, this drink did not meet expectations on multiple levels and was surely not worth the money.

Beautiful coffee. We loved the flat brown as it wasn’t too sweet and is exactly what we’ve always wanted from a mocha drink.

Love their coffee. And the baristas really know how to make a proper Flat White (dub ristretto)! Just wish they had a location somewhere along the coast! We drive 15 minutes just to get a coffee from them!

I've been a regular at Portola for 4 years & it's still, by far, my favorite coffee spot! They have strong, consistently good quality coffee & amazing customer service. It's located inside Union Market on District Dr. (the side facing WholeFoods). They have a large variety of drinks (hot & iced) and a good variety of milk substitutes. Although I haven't tried them all, the pastries that I've tried have always been super tasty. I love how the common area is dog friendly; my dog can tag along & waits patiently in line to say hello to the super friendly + kind baristas Tip- The District plaza can become hectic & difficult to find parking later on in the day, so go before noon to avoid the crowd & find easy parking
