We live closer to the location off El Toro Rd, but the Newport Blvd location has Taco Tuesday. Both have excellent food (all days of the week), excellent service, excellent atmosphere. We never have a complaint. The physical quality of the chips is random, sometimes not warm-hot and sometimes not crisp, but always good tasting, never old. If the only thing I can mention is the chips, then the place is worth our visits a couple times per month.

Not sure why this place is rated well. Might need to drink more margaritas to make the food good.

We tried this placed based on orange county registration naming it best Mexican restaurant. We were highly disappointed. Atmosphere was was old and depressing. Food was ok but nothing very authentic about it. Some reviews say the Dennys of Mexican restaurants, I would say that is being generous. Come on registration, do better. Won't be going back.

This is a great family-owned Mexican restaurant. Their decades of experience in food service shows in every aspect of their operations. Delicious food, friendly service, superb margaritas. Highly recommended.

Rodrigo’s (formerly Don José) in Tustin is great. If you grew up in the suburbs of SoCal, THIS is the Mexican food you had as a kid with your family. You probably celebrated your auntie’s and uncle’s birthdays at a place like this. There are always chips and salsa immediately when you sit down, which you should of course enjoy with a (diet) soda. Your mom used to scold you for pouring salt all over those chips, which you shouldn’t have done, but everyone’s secretly appreciated it. If you were like me, our school (St Jeanne’s) had a family field trip here to practice ordering in Español. You probably had cheese enchiladas with rice and beans back in the day, and they are just as delicious as they always were. Once you got a little older, you had their fajitas which always came out on a sizzling platter, and made the whole family (the whole restaurant?) smell like fajitas the rest of the night. Everything is delicious here, but you should order a salad first because your fat and carb content is gonna be high. After dinner, you’ll be too full to order the flan or fried ice cream or churros, but you’ll order them anyway to get your MONTHly recommended dose of sugar - happiness and health are hard to balance. Enjoy, but go to the gym tomorrow!

The Dennys of Mexican food. Service was fine, nothing to write home about. Food was pretty rough. Wouldn’t go back.

My son loves this place. I usually just get a taco. I'm not really fond of it.

First time here, and it was the end of brunch, if they still offer it. My husband and I arrived before the 2pm cut off for brunch but weren't offered a brunch menu.We ate off the normal menu I did the combo plate with the cheese enchilada added chicken one pork tamale served with rice and beans. Enchilada with chicken that's very good and flavorful but the pork tamale was lacking a bit in flavor on the pork. My husband had the carne asada with shrimp fajita combo plate and he enjoyed it said it was flavorful and not overcooked but the steak was lacking a bit with seasoning. They give you chips and salsa when you sit at the table and the salsa is very good does have bits of Jalapeno in it if you don't like that. Are server was attentive. I would recommend for a quick bite to eat and for quick service!

I go at least once a month. Usually the Corona location but this one didn't disappoint. Slightly different menu but still amazing!
