Tried Matzip recently under the new management and wow — everything was amazing. We ordered the buldak fried chicken, soy-garlic fried chicken, and jajangmyun, and each dish was spot on.
The fried chicken was crispy to absolute perfection — the kind of crunch you normally only find at top spots in Korea. The jajangmyun noodles were perfectly chewy and flavorful, exactly what you’d expect from an authentic Korean Chinese restaurant in Seoul. Even the side dishes, especially the kimchi, were fresh and balanced just right.
Overall, the food exceeded expectations. Highly recommend giving it a try and experiencing it for yourself. Matzip under new management is definitely worth checking out!

We unintentionally helped create a huge crowd for dinners and we regret it 😂
Jokes aside, Matzip is our favorite Korean restaurant in the Bay and we’ve tried plenty. They just recently have new management and the food quality reflects it. We came in during a random weekday lunch and immediately came back the next day.
Our favorites: Korean fried chicken the spicy and honey butter, japchae is the best we’ve ever had, and the mochi cheese balls
We see negative reviews for DoorDash cancellations and slow service. Cut these folks a break, they are getting their much deserved recognition and trying to staff up. If you have patience, you’ll love this spot!

I saw a Tiktok earlier this morning about this place and went as soon as it opened today during my lunch break. I’m so glad I did, I called to order and it was ready within 10 minutes of calling (I live nearby). It was very quiet inside as it had just opened for the day, the person I spoke to on the phone was kind, the person that helped me when I picked up the food was so friendly (not sure if it was the same person I spoke to on the phone). I’d absolutely come back for dinner to eat at the restaurant, it was very pleasant inside.

Best Korean fried chicken I've ever had in my life. And I say this as someone who has lived in NY most of his life.
They're apparently under new management. I can't speak to what they were like beforehand, but I guarantee that their food is amazing right now.
New Korean restaurant here in Union City, CA. Flavorful huge portions of food. Nice interior with lots of seating. Parking is not a problem.
Went as a party of 3 and all of us enjoyed the experience on a Sunday evening. We had Ja Jang Myeon, Tteok Bok Ki and Popcorn Chicken.
Recommend this restaurant totally!

Must-get items:
Jjam Bong noodles: best Korean noodles I've ever had. It's filled with delicious octopus, squid. My son who doesn't like vegetables said even the mushrooms in the noodles were good.
MenBoSha deep fried shrimp toast: so crispy and delicious.
Kimbop with beef was very good too.
Tteok-bok-ki original was good as the texture was perfectly chewy.
We will be back to try other dishes.

Ordered the Lion King sushi as an appetizer along with two soups to share 🍣🥢. One soup size was larger than the other. The sushi was tasty, and the soups were great for sharing 🍲. It also came
With white rice and small portions of pickled veggies. My favorite was the pickled zucchini. I really enjoyed the cozy booth seating, plus the background music and concert videos playing in the background 🎶🎥. A great touch. Service was attentive and there was plenty of parking.

The food is kinda good and they have good selection on their menu. The portion size they give you is not that much in my opinion. The water is tap water and you can taste the difference, would recommend to bring your own water container or just stay away from their water, they do have canned soda. The place is kinda nice, from the looks of it they have karaoke at nights, during lunch they leave the tv on a asian channels or something to that matter, but it was ok for a little lunch, price wise, it was a tiny bit pricey for the portions they give.

My buddy and I tried this Korean place after work on a week night and it wasn't too busy. It's a cozy little place that's clean and accessible. The servers/hosts were really friendly and welcoming. There's a mini karaoke section that opens at 5pm if you want to sing! :)
We ordered some sushi, Korean fried chicken and the pork bibimbbap, which Ilwas my favorite.
