In the 80's, on some Friday after work I and my co-workers used to go to TGI Friday to have dinner and drink after a long week of work. Since then I haven't been to any of them, I thought they're all disappeared like most old chain restaurants. The other day, we just felt like to have some Burgers and Ribs, we remembered this restaurant many years ago in our area, so we decided to try it out. I remembered they have great big juicy burgers and fries.
The place is in a nice shopping center, plenty of parking spaces. The restaurant is nice and clean inside with the bar and TVs all over. This is a bar and grill supposedly.
The server was quite attentive, patient and pleasant.
We didn't know what to order, so we ordered these combos for me and my wife to share, which is nice.
We had an appetizer platter with little of everything, the potato skins were so good, my kids took them all, left me with mozzarella cheese sticks which I liked, so it's ok.
All the meat dishes has an option for this special whisky sauce which a little too sweet for my daughter, but for me it's great.
My son got the truffle burger with fries that very juicy and tasty.
My daughter got the shrimp cajun pasta that was so rich and plentiful, she couldn't finish and had to take it home.
My combo plate came with macaroni and cheese which I can't eat, they have no other choices which we had to leave it untouched, it's a kinda waste. We hate wasting food but even if we took it home, no one would eat it anyhow. I love the coleslaw.
My ribs were excellent with the whisky sauce, the chicken tender were quite good, the popcorn shrimps are crispy and tasty too.
We did order a citrus flavor special mixed drink which was quite good.
Over all, this is quite a nice place for bbq stuff, burgers and fries and the fries are excellent. Nice establishment, not sure how it survives all these years by itself or may be with a few left. It does bring back memories of the 80's.

Food is okay and service was not great. We came on a Friday evening and it feels like a missed opportunity for TGI Fridays to not have a Friday specials or promotions for Friday.

My husband got the Fridays Feast pick 2 and got the half rack of apple butter BBQ ribs, whiskey glazed chicken fingers, 4 cheese mac and cheese and seasoned fries. The apple butter BBQ ribs were delicious and tender. The meat was almost fall off the bone and the flavor was muah! The whiskey glazed chicken fingers had a nice crisp and tasted fine. Based on how the menu, it was not clear the 4 cheese mac and cheese was an upcharge, which was a bummer when we got the bill. It is a premium side in the sides section of the menu but it looks like it is included in the price of the feast. Either way, I wouldn't recommend the 4 cheese mac and cheese anyways, it just tastes like pasta with cream. Pick something other than the seasoned fries as well, it just tastes like potatoes with very little crispy and maybe a hint of salt.

I got the philly cheese steak sandwich with mashed potatoes. The meat was juicy and tender. The bell peppers and bun were nice and soft. The cheese was melty and had a nice cheese pull. The only thing missing was some heat. I wish there were some hot peppers in the sandwich to elevate it. The mashed potatoes were just lukewarm potatoes with very little seasoning.

We got the brownie obsession for dessert and it's hard to say we loved it. There was one corner of the brownie that was warm and gooey so a bite of this corner with the vanilla ice cream was an amazing bite of hot and cold temps. The remaining three quarters of the brownie was room temp so no magical temperature adventure in our mouths. The brownie itself didn't stand out and the vanilla ice cream was what it sounded like. They should get their vanilla ice cream from Costco to solve that problem.

Essentially, the entrees were good and the sides were bleh. The service was inconsistent. The hostess was barely at the front and it took an unreasonable amount of time to seat the party in front of me when the restaurant only had a few tables occupied. When the party in front of me was seated, I was seated immediately which was puzzling. Our waitress was new and I understand if she's not as in tune with our table. Her trainer was amazing. He took care of us when she missed our cues. When we ordered the dessert with him, he asked us if the pecans were okay. Though we don't have a nut allergy, I always appreciate the attention to detail to ensure the customers don't find an unpleasant surprise. In my case, I don't like nuts so I asked for the pecans on the side.

All in all, I will likely not come back. We thought it would be interesting to go to TGI Fridays on a Friday. This one time was enough.

Props to Courtney, our incredible and beautiful waitress who did everything that she could to make our experience positive as she ran the restaurant today: ON HER OWN. Seating, serving, bar, to go orders: only Courtney was there to help and she did it all with a smile and the best service there is. We were waiting at the front for a few minutes (not her fault) and got sat, our drinks and food were all perfect though there was an extremely long wait.

Come to find out: a bartender had not been scheduled (or had called off) and Courtney hadn’t been informed until she arrived. The kitchen manager was doing their best in the back (props to them as well as they had a bunch of to go orders) and Courtney was running around trying to serve all of the lunch tables herself. We asked for the manager to come out and help and as it turns out, the manager (David) had decided to take the day off.

To be clear: the food at Fridays was great, Courtney’s service was five stars, but the MIA manager David should be ashamed of himself. Leaving a woman alone to handle a restaurant by herself so that so that he can have a day off is despicable and poor management if ever I have seen it. Again, five stars to the folks in the back and Courtney who did their best to deliver and give us a great experience.

But 0 stars on the management and shame on David for allowing his restaurant to flounder during peak lunch time with multiple tables and leaving his sole waitress alone.

Courtney deserves a raise for her service today.

Server was friendly and attentive. Seemed a bit understaffed so if help could be added to wait staff it would help run the business otherwise. The drinks were great and the food was solid for the price point.
