Actually SO yummy. My friend and I shared the mochiko chicken plate. The mac salad is well seasoned, above your average mac salad from the salad bar. The kale, tomato, and cucumber was drenched in such yummy sauce as well (idk what it was but it had a hint of sweetness which liked) and the star of the show, the CHICKEN. Absolutely glorious. The only thing have had that can realy compare it to is a perfect karage. It is so tender, juicy, and the perfect amount of crispy. The sauce and rice are given in just the right portions to compliment this mouthwatering chicken. The staff was also really kind, adding to the overall welcoming and relaxed mood of the place. The inside is well decorated with some good times playing along with two indoor seating areas. The rest of the seating is outside with these umbrellas for sunny days so it is pretty open to you and your friends to chill and hang out for however long you want. Outside, there is self-served water as well as a bar for drinks but is still family friendly. The place is also overall well kept, being very clean. The vibes of the place were overall good and very enjoyable. The size of this meal is pretty hefty, it is $17 after all. It is so good though could eat up the whole thing myself but probably be on the verge of exploding at the end so would definitely recommend to share with a friend or you could save the rest for later. However, I definitely want to return to try more of their menu.

If I had more stars, I'd give it to them! I believe Alan was at the counter (apologies if I got your name wrong) and he was awesome. We drove all the way from SJ to Union City just to try out their Mochiko Sando! We weren't disappointed despite the 1 hour drive and another 45 mins it took them to get the order ready. They had stopped taking orders because of the sheer number of orders coming in! When I told them that we drove for an hour just to try their food, Alan offered drinks and shrimp chips on the house!Simply fantastic food and the ambience for the BeerHaus looked amazing. I'll make the trip again in a few weeks. You guys have a great thing going, I'd say scale up and this could lead to something amazing.

Stopped by originally thinking this was the building for BirdHaus but it was the restaurant instead and was pleasantly surprised. I got the Sisig Chop Cheese and a Musubi. To say the least it was tasty! I'd definitely stop by again to try some of their other items and of course to grab a beer at Birdhaus. The beer selection was nice and varied. Worth a visit!

Food was okay, but the wait for it was ridiculous! We had to wait over 40min for our food. It’s definitely a nice spot to bring your pup to. Not sure I will be returning.

Delicious food, the menu was relatively small but a lot of stuff sounded good, and I appreciated that there were both appetizers/sides and entrees and vegan options too, so it felt like everyone could get just what they wanted. They have some classic offerings but it felt like each item had a little twist to it--for example, the loco moco had adobo style gravy and came with pickles, and the chili fries had furikake. All was super tasty! Drinks were just bottled water and soda cans. The wait time felt a bit long but it was fine for friends coming to spend time and chat.It was a cute small spot! I love the vibe in there, mom and pop type of decor with a clear Hawaiian/Filipino vibe. When I first came in (early evening on a Saturday) there was a bit of a line and not a lot of space for people to stand around, they could probably use more space! They only have two tables inside but there's some outdoor seating, it was just a cold day. Thankfully my friends and I were able to spend some quality time there and the staff were nice and helpful too.Vegetarian options: They have vegan options and they sounded good! Mainly tofu and jackfruit. They're prominent on the menu.Parking: There's limited street parking. Takes a little luck or patience!

Got the spicy crab fries. Pretty tasty and love all the ingredients! I sat out back and it was pretty empty on a Thursday around noon. It was really nice enjoying the sun during lunch.Really lovely outdoor spot with games, nice benches, chill music and decor. Good place for a work meeting/lunch, date, large group gathering, team happy hour or even to work out of if it’s not too busy.Wonderful space in union city. Hope it stays around awhile! I feel like you only find these spaces in SF/oakland/San Jose where all the tech workers live.

My first time ordering foo from them, and I enjoyed every bite. I ordered the mochicko chicken. Everything in the plate was delicious. From the kale salad, mac salad, and the main part. I'm not a huge fan of kale, but if I can get the dressing that is on it I will definitely eat it. There salad is mac salad you either like it or you don't. I, in fact love mac salad. Mac salad is really difficult to get wrong. The mochicko chicken.... reminds of this old restaurant in the big island that serve it. Crunchy on the outside, moist inside. The sauce is amazing as well. It's not overpowering the flavor of the chicken. It gives a nice sweet balance to the dish. The chili rice bowl definitely hits home. I took a bite from it, and it sent me back to my middle school days! Although I order take out. The staff were attentive, very warm, and cool as hell. For as may years as I've been in F&B, service is most important. Without great service, you can lose return customers. Even though they are only open a set amount of days. I highly recommend the lone crow. Next time I come around, I will be sure to dine in. Other than that. My only, very minor gripe is.... I NEED MORE RICE!!! JK. Coming from Guam I'm used to having just a bit more rice to meat ratio. But we are in Cali so it was enough for me. ?????? I will come more often now that I've had a couple dishes from you. Everything was delicious. Ordered the spicy tuna poke, mochiko chicken and imitation crab fries. If each item was $2 cheaper, it would be perfect. Excellent quality, but still a tad bit expensive.

We've gotten food from here quite a few times while enjoying a drink at Birdhaus right next door, and always appreciate how they have plenty of vegetarian options for a cuisine (Filipino/Hawaiian) not known for them. The dishes are always flavorful and well-cooked. Sometimes we'll start off intending to just get a snack, and this will end up being our dinner. The food can take a while to come out, but it is pretty popular among the Birdhaus crowd so make sure to order before getting your beer.

It's afternoon vacation time from work day to get some much needed self-care time. I wanted to grab lunch after a massage. I made the right decision to come to here. The food is good here. Filipino/Hawaiian cuisine. The meals and fries all sounded so good. They have Poke and vegetarian options too! Great! No seating inside but grab your food there. Outdoor seating is at Birdhaus Beer Garden. Upon walking into the beer garden area, I felt like I was transported back to Maui island. I'll do anything that will help me recapture my amazing time I had on Maui. And for a vacation afternoon this is exactly what I didn't know I needed.I ordered the Mochiko Chicken. It is served on a bed of Kale slaw and usually comes with rice, Mac salad, and some sides. I'm not a fan of rice so they were kind enough to give me extra Mac. Brownie points gained! The chicken is tender and flavorful. I really like that it is served on a Kale salad (making feel a little less guilty).Grab your food and eat in the beer garden. You will be filled and relaxed by the mellow island mood back here.I don't want to leave "Maui" so I think I'll stay here for a little while. Aloha!

Lone Crow grindz paired with a cold beer from Birdhaus is the BEST post-work-week treat! I love the traditional and unique dishes they bring to the menu, and the quality and presentation of the food never ceases to amaze me. The portions are perfect for me; not too much and not too little. My only qualm is that sometimes the wait/line is crazy, but that's what happens when your food is just THAT good (:

I wanted to love it, but now I'm not sure. I cant tell you that I'm a Hawaiian food connoisseur. But!1. Spam Musubi - too salty with the extra sawce drizz-el on top. Looks cute though! 2. Mochiko Chicken - the marinade is hella ginger-y and not so bready. I like a little crunch then just a tiny little soak in sawce. 3. Tuna Shoyu - yooooo! It was hella drenched in oil! Is that how its supposed to be? Cause damn, if it is. I guess I prefer it drier than the Sahara. 4. Chili - if hubby said it was too oily, then mos def too oily. 5. Aoili Fries - again, too sawced and extra salty. I get it though, if your out drinking with friends all this food could be amazing. But as for typical weeknight dinner choices, make sure to pack your BP and cholesterol medications with ya! All in all, i'd take a trip down to Hukilau in San Jo if possible. Or! When Hukilau used to be on Masonic! Those were the days of Ahi Poke bowls.

HAWAII CRAVINGSWhen I went to Hawaii this past May for 6 days I couldn't eat everything. After coming back from Hawaii I had cravings for Hawaiian food. One of the Hawaiian dishes I wasn't able to try during my trip was mochiko chicken. I came to The Lone Crow about two months ago for lunch. I was delighted that a place in the Bay Area was serving mochiko chicken. For lunch I ordered two items: spam musubi and mochiko chicken. I love salt but spam musubi was too salty for my taste. The one reason is soy sauce that drenched this dish. Spam itself is salted meat and by adding a lot of soy sauce makes the spam musubi served at The Lone Crow salty. Can the mochiko chicken sway my opinion about The Lone Crow? I will say the mochiko chicken was a better tasting dish than the spam musubi. The garlic marination enhances the taste of the chicken. The portion of the rice was more than enough. The macaroni salad was creamy yet light. I had a problem with the sauce on the mochiko chicken. The sauce didn't taste gross but didn't add anything beneficial to the mochiko chicken. There were two issues with the sauce:1) It didn't add any flavor to the dish as the garlic marination was the flavor.2) It made the crispy breading soggy. The saltiness of the spam musubi made the dish inedible. I like the mochiko chicken, which is why I came here. I think the sauce should have been served on the side. Overall I had a decent lunch at The Lone Crow.

Ordered for pickup at The Lone Crow and it was really easy and not too long of a wait. Service was really good, the staff was able to give me recommendations and their favorite dishes which helped a whole lot when ordering. The place is pretty casual and a good place to grab lunch and drinks! Will definitely have to come back and dine in! When it comes to food, everything was delicious! But we were a huge fan of the Chilli, Crab Fries, and Poke!! A MUST try when you visit! :))
