Food is okay, we ordered the pan fried pork buns, wonton in chili sauce and grilled squid. Wonton wraps were quite thick so the flavor was a bit bland. Pan fried pork buns are okay, except it did not have the juicy inside and crispy outside. Price is also okay.

This restaurant has never disappointed us. But today they really outdid themselves with the ZHAJIANGMIAN soybean noodles. What a fantastic dish ….with different textures and flavors. It was very, very good. There were noodles , carrots, peanuts , and much more, or just the right crunch and flavor….. very very good! We also had a side of sautéed garlic, green beans, which had a great flavor and crunch as well.

I went here a year ago and order four items. Sat there for more than 30 minutes before the order was ready. Keep seeing people that order after me get their items. The worker didn’t even bother apologizing. I usually get my dumplings in Sacramento so I scratch this up as one bad experience and let it slide. Yesterday I was coming home from work and the wife want some dumplings and since I’m already near home I decide to drop by this place again and give it one more try. I order two pork dumplings with veggies. Most place when you order pork with veggies you get pork with dice carrots, cabbage and onions. The one from bao bao is just pork with a lot of green onions. It took them 25 minutes to finish my order and when I go home to eat it the dumpling was very oily inside and the pork meat was undercooked. Never going back here again. This place is a disgrace to real Chinese dumpling.

We decided for a takeout since Saturdays are busy with nut tree. As we walked in to pick up our food, it was pretty packed around 1 pm so highly recommend going at less peak times on weekends. We had the following:

Lumpia: 8/10
Popcorn chicken: 8/10
Bbq pork buns: 5/10 too much bread to meat ratio
Pork buns: 6/10 good flavor, meat mix was clumped into a ball and left hollow pockets in the sides of bun
Haukau : 7/10
Shaomai: 7:10
Egg fried rice noodles: 7/10
Chow mein: 9/10

Overall was a bit disappointed with the pork buns but surprised how well everything tasted from being in take out boxes for the drive home.

Good dumplings at a reasonable price. We got the crab and pork xi long bao, the chicken and corn dumplings, the bbq pork buns, garlic green beans, and the rice cakes. The xi long bao was very tasty and a nice twist on the traditional pork. The chicken and corn was also tasty. The bbq buns were ok but not a highlight out of these items. The garlic green beans were delicious. The rice cakes were ok and very filling but they had a strange flavor to them.

🤡 <— this is you if you go to Din Tai Fung to spend away your life savings when Bao Bao Dumpling House exists. For 3 of us we got a HUGE plate of chow mein, cucumber salad, and pork xiao long bao. All of these items were delicious and you could call us alpha males the way we wolfed 🐺 it down. And guess what. The total? $34 INCLUDING TAX AND A DECENT TIP. HELLO???!!!!! Also the service was epic; the chow mein came out like one minute after we ordered; my mans was ON IT. The xiao long bao was juicy af and we were greedy and burned our mouths but it was worth it. The cucumber salad was a light and refreshing touch.

Super bland food. Not sure what people find so appealing but the chow mein needed soy sauce & the steamed buns were dry. Super weird to be able to get better steamed buns at Safeway
