Quantities are a joke with prices quite high considering. Food is good but not worth the price/quantity.

I ordered a French dip sandwich.
I immediately took it up to the counter the lady looked at it and said she didn't like the looks of it. It was dry slabs of meat and grizzle rubbery chunks attached horrible.
I asked if she was the cook she said no, then asked me what else I wanted.
I went to the register and from the menu said the tuna salad sandwich.
I sat down and waited.
I scraped the tuna off the bread.
I eventually used it to dip in my clam chowder that I ordered after a while because the tuna didn't taste fresh at all.
These people that work there need to seriously taste their food before they serve it
None of this meal was good costing me over $27.00
I could have ate at chic filet or subway and been better off.
But the name sounded enchanting Boudin SF
I grew up eating everything in San Francisco!!!
Delicious Clam Chowder on the Wharf
I told the manager about the dip sandwich she said she didn't see it dam I wished I would have showed it to her and not the lady by the cook station.
She asked me about the tuna salad sandwich
I told her it was okay I didn't want to embarrass her
It just looked like it was all smashed up and a few celery chunks in there or green onions who knows
The tomato on top looked FRESHER than the tuna
I went up and bought some chowder it wasn't good either
WTH
I asked the kid who worked there ( he was cleaning the floor by my table/)
I asked him if it was homemade and did it come from SF like the bread???
He said I think so I think it comes to us in a can
Well it tasted terrible.
It wasn't homemade and the little clams were barely any flavor at all and they added potatoes of their own chopped up and boiled
The manager take off the difference of the dip sandwich and the soup so that was good.
But there was nothing special about this place.
I would rather eat at Olive garden where everything really is fresh and delicious
Anywhere where you get your money worth and the food is good the first time around
I wouldn't recommend Boudin to anyone
It's a shame because I eat out a lot
I have had excellent eating experiences everywhere
But not here

We flew into Sacramento for a family reunion in the Vallejo/Benicia area, and stopped by the Nut Tree Complex in Vacaville. We were cruising through the shopping center, looking for something that sounded good to both of us, when we came upon Boudin. This has been a long-time favorite over the past 30 years, both in the SFO airport, which, sadly, is no longer there, and, down in the Fisherman's Wharf area of San Francisco. So let's get right to the review. The two of us each ordered the classic clam chowder in a bread bowl, and decided to share a side order pepperoni pizza bread because we were both pretty hungry. As always, the chowder and the bread bowl were perfect! You just can't beat Boudin's sourdough bread bowl for flavor, the lightly crispy crust, but soft and chewy inside, with just the right density. We asked for extra butter for our bowl "top" that is cut out to make room for the soup. Both the ladies at the register and the servers were very friendly and helpful. But here's the real sales pitch: on our way back to the airport three days later, we stopped in again for lunch. If you knew my wife, you'd know that is just never done. But because our first experience was so positive, she was more than happy to stop in again. You just can't get Boudin anywhere else, so how could you pass up an opportunity to have it again before heading home? This time, we both took advantage of the pick-a-pair option, and added our own Grilled Brie with Apples & Fig Jam accompaniment. It was a great choice!! You just can't go wrong here. The breads are fabulous, the soup is perfect, and there are so many other delicious salad, sandwich, and pizza options.

My party of 4 started with the 50 dollar combo meal. It includes 4 bread bowls, 4 sandwiches, and 4 cookies. It's good value compared to getting it individually.
I got the clam chowder, havarti and turkey sandwich. The clam chowder was good, although in the past boudin has made better. The sandwich was the exact example of subpar. The bread was like a rock. It tasted like it was just something you would get premade. I ordered no tomato, and it came with tomato. The staff was very accommodating with replacing the sandwich, and was very friendly.
Now, the water. Oh my. We got cups and dispensed the water with ice from the machine. I was enjoying my clam chowder when I decided to grab a sip of water. BIG MISTAKE. The water tasted like if tumeric and gasoline made a child. I grabbed my sandwich to try to get the lingering diesel taste out of my mouth, and the rock hard bread couldn't do anything about it. The gas taste stayed in my mouth for 1 to 2 minutes. What I don't understand is how you mess up water??? You can feed me water from the sink and I guarantee it won't have the sewerage taste, this is not normal tap water.
Compared to the normal taste of boudin, this was a very subpar experience.

Want to be open and honest here. First tile i went in i walked out because of the amount of flies in the store and seen on the bread. the bathrooms weren’t well kept and they kept their cabinets unlocked with the toiletries.

My husband and I stopped in on our way home from Oregon. We were really looking forward to a quick break and a sandwich. We were greeted by a kiosk, with no other person available. Took a minute to get our order placed, but was easy enough. Then we waited. And waited. And waited. After 20 minutes I asked someone where our food was. They said they hadn’t gotten our order! First, get it together with your ordering system. Next, if you’ve got 4 front of house workers, they should see that we’re sitting at a table with a number and no food. Maybe check in. I was told they were training, and were sorry. Thanks, but we still had no food. They offered a refund (another 5 minutes), and could make our sandwich, but it was a French dip. Not something we could eat in the car, so we’d have to stay even longer. We opted for nothing. What a frustrating waste of time. Please do better.

We stopped at the Nut Tree location for lunch during a road trip and had a VERY pent up toddler who had been stuck in the car and made enjoying lunch very hard. The manager was absolutely lovely and came to our table with a sticker book from her own locker to entertain our son so we could eat. She was so sweet, and told us our son reminded her of her own. It was an above and beyond gesture of kindness, and in a moment when we really needed it. Thank you isn’t enough.

First I must say that being vegan in a carnivore world is extremely difficult. I ordered the Spring Salad without chicken and cheese and requested extra walnuts in lieu of the cheese. I had the dressing on the side. The spring mix was fresh and cold, a must for salad. Boudin did a great job in filling my request and of course the bread roll was yummy. I can now add this to a place I can eat.
