Since we moved out of state, we always make a point to eat at Murillos when we are back in town. It never disappoints and is always considered a highlight of our trip. You can always count in the food being delicious, the service being friendly, and the atmosphere welcoming.
Mild salsa tastes like thin marinara, I didn't like dipping my chips in it. My husband said the hotter salsa tasted good. All of my food was bland and I couldn't put enough salt on it. I got a combo plate with a tamal and chili releno. Refried beans were thin with no cheese like most restaurants. Meat in the tamal was moist but bland. No sauces on anything. The best part of the meal was the flan, that was smooth and creamy with just the right taste.
We had the best lunch today. I wish we took pictures. The Jalisco burritos that were ordered were perfect. We also had shredded beef tacos. They were so good and flavorful. Our waitress was on it with great service.
