We've been eating at Spice for years. Eat in and take out. Used to be 4-5 stars but not now. High quality food was always consistently served. We hadn't been there in a couple months or more. My wife thought something was different the minute we walked in. Staff was casually dressed, no complimentary won ton. Menu was the same but the surprise happened when the fresh spring rolls showed up. Shrimp looked like it was after thought instead of incorporated into the roll. Basil chicken? Not sure I saw any basil. Green curry chicken sauce thickened up as we ate. Food was more salted than in the past. Our server was attentive and kept the water full and was genuinely interested in how we were doing. We didn't wait long and the food was served hot and both entrees arrived at the same time. These factors seem better than the past couple weeks.

New management but I d have to say some great improvements - the hot and sour soup is awesome - curry was great - give them a chance - that's what management said -

Have been wanting to try this restaurant for awhile. We planned on going to lunch before heading to Lowe's in VV and husband said "you pick". So I did. Restaurant is clean and staff were pleasant. Ordered our drinks. Diet soda. Sigh. Out of diet soda. My husband is diabetic so that was a bummer. Iced Tea? No. Well. Being made. Ok. I'll wait. Nice options on the menu. Really really wanted the Thai Samosas. Not available. Sigh. Ok. Ordered Pad Thai. Medium Spicy. Was zero spicy. Anyway. I have more comments but will leave it at that. It was "ok". But I live in Fairfield where we have multiple amazing Thai restaurants so I don't need to go back to Spice.

This restaurant is not the same after change in management. Service is now awful. Soon after we sat down and ordered, one guy came by and asked if we were done and if we wanted dessert. We ordered 4 entrees and the first two came out together, then the third came out when we were halfway through the meal. By the time we finished the last entree still hadn't arrived. So I told them to cancel it. They have even more workers now but they are all running around like chickens with their heads cut off, not knowing what they are doing. It's too bad the new management, or if there is even any management, has pulled this once great restaurant into the gutter.

I hate to say that it just isn't the the same. I knew that it had recently become under new management and wanted to see if a lot has changed here since it had become one of my favorite places in Vacacille for Thai. This was my second time visiting Spice after new management. Once for take out and once for dine in. And unfortunate, I have come to the conclusion that the only thing that has really stayed the same is the decor. Because eventhough the menu items are the same, they do not taste the same as they did when I loved them. This last dine in visit, there was no bartender to order drinks although they have a happy hour now, $1 off beer and wine from 5-7pm." A promotion we actually found out wasn't applied to our dinner until we got home. And while one of the employees was kind enough to make us a drink she knew how to prepare, it was very odd that a bartender was not present. We ordered the "shrimp fresh rolls" to start. No more complimentary shrimp chips for the table. It took about 15 mins to receive our fresh rolls and they came out slightly warm even, which threw me off. The peanut sauce was also different. I found it lacking in flavor and the texture was quite thin. My favorite dish here is (or was) the chicken green curry which before came with a side of rice without question. I'm confused now whether or not it does... for my take out order I was informed that it no longer came with a side of rice, which disappointed me, but while dining in we asked for our side of rice to be whole grain and recieved just that without addition cost. The curry itself was thinner and appeared broken, not smooth like before. It was also much sweeter. I'm a bit torn now with what to do with Spice. It used to my favorite place to get green curry but I fear that the new management has made many changes that has not kept the same quality as before.

This used to be a very good Thai restaurant. It is now under new management, the owner's daughter, and it has a whole new staff with one cook that stayed. The new people cooking need to learn how to cook Thai food. They were out of panang curry so we ordered spicy red curry. It came out very thin and watery. It was not spicy. It was actually sweet. Next they brought out our appetizer spring rolls because they "had to hand roll them." Finally, about 15-20 minutes later, they brought out our duck. I am hoping they get back to the quality level they once were after they get their new cooks trained. For now I am hesitant to go back which is unfortunate since this used to be one of my favorite Thai restaurants. We eat Thai a couple times a week and I have lived in Thailand so I am very familiar with Thai cuisine. For now I will be frequenting some of the other myriad of Thai restaurants in the area.

Order took an hour and a half through Grubhub on a Sunday. Food arrived not warm. Not really the fault of the restaurant for poor driver service however the food that arrived was sub par. Calamari was soggy and light on quantity especially for $10. Noddles were packed in a plastic soup bowl and were soggy and greasy. Overall not a good experience. This restaurant is not set to for to go orders.

Bridgett was our server and she was very nice. She always checked up on us and made sure we were satisfied with our meal. We had Thai iced tea which was good but mine was a little too sweet for my taste. Overall, The food came quickly and it tasted good. We ordered the BBQ pork chop and the mango prawns. The pork chop came with a salad and three pieces of meat which tasted pretty average. The mango prawns was good with a lot of vegetables. I'm pretty sure their other options would also taste better.

We came here for lunch on a weekend, boy what a mistake. For starters, they opened at noon but were not ready for customers at noon. There was no hot water for tea, so we couldn't have tea for lunch. They didn't have any rice ready so we couldn't order any dish with rice, or rice as a side. Our host was nice, and said they were clearly understaffed, but the others in the place just said it was early and they weren't ready... noon, early, really? They got my friends order wrong too, we were the only people in the place and they couldn't get our three orders right. Crazy. He gave us the make up dish for free so that earned them a second star and our appreciation. Not a great dinning experience.

Great service! They are so fast! Decent prices and the shrimp pad Thai is delicious. They give you a complimentary chicken soup while you wait for your food so that's really nice.

It was an interesting place to try new food. I enjoyed the waiter and his recommendations to what was good and it turned out to be pretty good. Nice place. Intrested in coming back.

We had a craving for Thai food and so we happened to stop at this place at the Nut Tree. The waiter was friendly, yet missing from most of our meal. The food was lame. It lacked the flavor that Thai is known for. Prices were high too for the quality of food we ordered. Not a place worth trying again. Pass!

Service was phenomenal. Unfortunately, the food was not memorable. Maybe it was an off night due to the rain or the chef was sick. I really tried to like it, but had much, much better at a German Imbiss for much, much less.
