We literally just walked out of lunch after walking in admittedly for food out of convenience, as we were getting our dog's teeth cleaned a few doors down and needed something to eat. The presence of Ma La Xiang Guo on the menu (and the owner's comment that the chefs are from Sichuan) caught our attention, so we ended up ordering a Beef Xiang Guo. We neglected to specify the spiciness, so it came out pretty spicy--too much for the wife (who isn't very tolerant), satisfying for me (who will gladly sacrifice his intestines in pursuit of spice he will feel every step of its journey through his body). The spice did not overwhelm the rest of the sauce, which had a pleasant, herby flavor to accompany the crunch of the lotus root and woodear. I don't know how authentic it was but I certainly found it delicious. We also ordered their green beans with eggplant. I'm used to this recipe being spicy, but either the Xiang Guo masked the spiciness or it was a very mild variant (suiting my wife just fine). It also had the crunch I expect to accompany the green beans, as well as the garlicky flavor we enjoy with these veggie dishes. Lastly, given the sudden downpour of rain, we ordered the corn and chicken soup, which was exactly the mild we were looking for--the right amount of salt, corn, and chicken in broth--to offset the bold flavors of the Xiang Guo. My wife enjoyed their bubble tea as accompaniment, but unfortunately it's a fixed sweetness, which meant this sugarblood couldn't enjoy one as well. But they're a restaurant, not a boba joint, so that's understandable. They also threw in a dessert which my wife seemed to enjoy, but I can't find the equivalent on the menu offhand. Their portions were generous enough that these three dishes were more than enough for two to eat, and we had to get takeout containers for the return trip. We're not up in Vacaville much, and if it we didn't need to have our dog's teeth cleaned, we probably wouldn't drive the hour and a half it took to get here specifically for this place. However, we will look forward to eating here and further exploring the menu whenever we're in the area.

I've been craving Chinese food for a very long time but sadly do not have a go-to spot in Vacaville. Most Chinese restaurants in Vacaville are okay, nothing to be excited about. Today was a game changer. It's funny because I use to own this place as Erick's Deli from 2007-2015 so I was naturally curious. First our greeter was absolutely delightful. He suggested a few different options, my husband ordered Szechuan Beef, I had Chicken Broccoli and for appetizers we ordered Cucumber in Chili sauce and Fried Cream Cheese Crab Wonton. The Szechuan Beef was AMAZING better than my Chicken Broccoli which was also very tasty. The Cucumber Chili was a cold dish but very flavorful and delicious. All the while our server was attentive and suggested other items to try. We could only eat so much so we declined to order but he was so gracious to bring us two samples on the house. I appreciate good marketing. One was a honey glazed shrimp with candied Walnut. WOW!! So delicious I ate three and gave my husband one. The other sample was a fried Cheese stick. It was okay, not my favorite but not bad. We enjoyed every item and will make this our monthly night out. Every person who orders receives 15% off not sure how long this discount will last so do not delay your visit. Do yourself a favor and check this place out and come hungry.

My husband looked online for Chinese Food and saw this place just opened up. We decided to go here for dinner and we were excited to try this restaurant out. The place is easy to locate and there's plenty of parking spaces. The grand opening (has deals!) on their entrees. My husband and I decided to order 5-6 dishes. Mongolian beef did not disappoint. We are excited to have this place around and will continue to come here!

Tasty every Hour is a newly opened spot that's definitely worth a try. I visited this past Wednesday afternoon with a couple of friends. The interior is exceptionally cozy, making it a great choice for dining in groups. I must mention, their Lamb on Toothpicks dish was remarkably authentic, the best Sichuan cuisine I've had coast to coast. If you're looking to enjoy the finest delicacies in the neighborhood, this place is a must-visit.
